Most travel insurance policies are meant to cover a single trip, and typically have a limit of up to 90 days. However, travelers that want longer protection that spans multiple trips can purchase an Annual travel insurance policy.
Annual policies can be purchased to cover up to one year of travel. When getting a quote, enter the desired start date and choose the end date to be the previous day of the upcoming year. This is the maximum amount of time that can be covered in an international travel insurance or medical insurance quote. However, some international medical insurance plans can be renewed. The initial time period to be insured must be at least 3 months in order for a policy to be renewable, that is, if it is a renewable policy. Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
