IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. I submitted my claim to IMG on 1/07/26 and it was finally paid out on 3/18/26. In spite of website statements about claim feedback/updates being available in 5 working days, IMG did not post updates on my case. I called to IMG customer service on three occasions to question the delay. I had a serious infection that required treatment and prevented my travel. I submitted all required paperwork prior to the actual planned departure date of my travel. I was not pleased with the lack of communication from IMG and frustrated with the delay in processing my claim. I doubt I will choose to use IMG again.

I had to change my flights due to the war in Iran as my return flight was through a no-fly airspace and was, thus cancelled. My options were either be stranded in Kazakhstan or book a new return flight through different airspace. The travel insurance said there was a clause to not cover any expenses that arise due to war. Thus, according to the policy, I would be stranded in Kazakhstan. I had to book a new return ticket, and my claim for the additional expense (price difference between original and second tickets) was denied. What’s the point of having travel insurance if they will cover your evacuation but not a replacement flight when the original flight is cancelled?
I completed the questionnaire on your site for two people, myself and my husband. Entered the amount of the trip cost for both of us. A few days before the trip when I was printing all of my documents IMG only had me covered. I called and their only solution was to create an IMG account to possibly be refunded for his portion and repurchase for him. I explained I had purchased the insurance for us both and requested they add him to the policy. They never did and they kept the money for the full amount of our trip. Never again.
This is not a good experience. I filed the claim and two week or more later I've still heard nothing. I feel like it's a scam.
Filed a claim on 3/26, got a confirmation email that the claim has been received. And after that No other communication to follow! No claim number (even though the email said I will receive it within 10 business days), no follow up. Nothing at all.
I had to cancel my trip due to a medical issue. I submitted the requested documents and I was reimbursed. I would definitely recommend IMG especially their policy that covers pre-existing conditions and will use them in the future.
I shopped around for travel insurance and selected this policy mainly for the emergency medical coverage as that was what I was most concerned about. We ended up having to cancel due to a family medical emergency. The claim process was very easy and we had our money back in our account in just a few weeks.
