I had to cancel my trip due to serious illness of my host. It was not covered since she was not hospitalized. The illness would have been covered if it had been mine. The purpose of the trip was to visit my friend. Very disappointing. YOU DO NOT ALLOW N/A IN YOUR RESPONSES

They were perfectly polite in explaining why this request was not covered, but there was no accommodation at all for a trip that had to be cancelled for events outside my control.

The insurance carrier was OK in providing the forms etc. for making the claim. The problems came in there honoring of it. First of all, we did not hear from them for about 5 weeks after making the claim (I called to find out the status after 3 1/2 weeks) and then it was an outright rejection. The claim was for extra travel costs that we had to incur due to flooding in Thailand. The insurance carrier claimed that this was not an "unforseen event" since there had been heavy rains in Thailand since July (our travel was in November, policy was bought in August). We thought this was ridiculous - spent a lot of time writing another letter laying out the facts again with the documentation with cc's to higher folks in the company. That brought results and the check in late March. There was no reason this claim shouldn't have been immediately honored the first time. I expect some people would have just accepted the fact that their claims was not going to be reimbursed and let it drop. It pays to be persistent, but I will never do business with Traveler Insured Intl again (and I travel A LOT and buy insurance every time)!

I am glad we did not need assistance as covered by the insurance; but that is what insurance is for - the unexpected, which did NOT befall us. We would use your services again should we travel extensively.

Company required confirmation of flight delay from my airline. I was not able to get that from the airline and the insurance company went out of their way to contact the airline directly. The claim was then paid with no problem.

Wen I read the SquareMouth description of the policy, it showed a provision of $25,000 for non medical evacuation. In the actual policy document it said nothing about non medical evacuation. It only described medically necessary evacuation. One reason I bought the policy was for the non medical evacuation provision.
