Hurricane Guillermo – CSA

Last Updated:

CSA has released a position statement on the Hurricane Guillermo.

Posted: 07/31/2015

Guillermo strengthened into a hurricane early Friday, and is located about 1,500 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii.  Additional strengthening is expected, and Guillermo may become a major hurricane (Category 3 or higher).  For the next five days Guillermo is forecast to stay over open waters as it moves to the west-northwest in the general direction of Hawaii.  It’s too early to speculate on whether this system will eventually have any impact on the Hawaiian Islands.  If there are any impacts, it would not be until the middle or late portion of next week.  Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage.  For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after July 31, 2015.  Please contact CSA Travel Protection with questions.
