Can I still buy coverage in case I become quarantined?

Last Updated:

If you are quarantined in your home state and are unable to travel, you may be covered by Trip Cancellation.

Certain travel insurance providers have not assigned a foreseen date to the coronavirus pandemic, and may still provide Trip Cancellation benefits for travelers who cannot travel because they are quarantined or contracted the coronavirus. For travelers who do not yet have a policy, the following providers may still offer coverage in this situation:

  • April Travel Protection (Pandemic Plus policy)
  • Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection
  • Generali
  • Seven Corners
  • Tin Leg (Economy, Standard, Luxury, Adventure, and USA Only policies)
  • Travelex Insurance Services
  • TravelSafe

If you purchased a policy before the coronavirus outbreak became foreseen, other travel insurance providers may also provide this coverage. Depending on the provider, this date ranges between January 21 and January 27.

This information may vary based on the travel insurance policy. If you have questions about a specific policy, please contact us directly at 800-240-0369. Our customer service representatives are available from 8am to 10pm ET, seven days a week, and are delighted to help! We are working to answer customer calls and emails as quickly as possible.
