Many Aegis customers appreciate the level of service they receive when they have questions about their coverage or need assistance while traveling. In contrast, other travelers have reported difficulties in obtaining status updates on filed claims.
I filed a claim but when it came time to pay the claim everyone dissappeared. Told me the claim was being sent to adjuster. Adjuster never got it. Sent an email to Aegis claims and no answer. No way to contact customer service.
Had to cancel trip completely due to medical illness. Took me 2 days to get a hold of anyone at Aegis, then complete a 6 page form and attach all receipts and itinerary, Difficult to do will my illness, and have heard nothing back from them yet. I wish I had picked a different insurance company for this expensive trip.
Thank you for your review and for sharing your concerns regarding the claims process. When we spoke, you were able to share you submitted your documents directly with the claims administrator, and you were concerned you had not received an acknowledgement. I was able to reach out to the claims team who were able to confirm receipt of your documents last week. Your case is in queue for review, this week. Should further documentation be needed, they will be in contact with you. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Claims Contact (833) 403-4898 (Toll Free).
Did not get updates during my claim and started to worry.
As I stated previously they delayed unnecessarily either due to negligence, poor training of the agents or to delay payment. The final payment was exactly what I asked for.
It took almost a month, but otherwise was seamless.
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're glad to hear that your claim was reviewed and processed within our standard timeframe of three business weeks. We hope you'll keep Aegis in mind for your future travel insurance needs.

Everything with the experience was great other than the fact that I had submitted for approximately $35 reimbursement for toiletries. My flight was delayed and I ended up having to spendthe night in Chicago and did not have certain critical items that I had to go to a drugstore and buy. Still not totally sure why that was not reimbursed. Clearly, it was associated with a travel delay and the necessities were in my checked bag which was retained at the airport. Thank you for your consideration.
Thank you for your review. Upon receipt of all required documentation, the review and adjudication process will commence and is expected to be completed within approximately fifteen (15) business days. Should any further documentation be deemed necessary, your assigned adjuster will contact you directly.
Airline issued a credit that won't expire until next February. If we are unable to use that credit, Aegis says that they will reopen the claim and indicates it will reimburse us for the full airline fare ($3007).
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Yes, this is correct, once the credit expires, please forward documentation of the unused airline credit, and the claim will be reopened and reviewed for adjudication.
We hope you will consider Aegis again for your future travel insurance needs.
The claim has been filed on 7/22/25. Today is 9/10/25. It takes too long for Aegis to settle the claim. When I called Aegis, the representative said by the end of August it will be completed. However, they ask for more receipts each time. They do not review all the documentation carefully. The first time Aegis asked for Celebrity cruise cancellation documentation. But they were already included in the initial claim document.
I feel that Aegis is dragging their time to pay the claim.
Due to overload it is taking longer to review the claim.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your experience. I am happy to share, as of this morning, your claim has been reviewed and adjudicated. A settlement check will be mailed via USPS on Friday, to the address on file.
We hope you will consider Aegis, once again, for your future travel insurance needs.
