We choose this travel protection for my parents visit from Chile. It supposed to cover them when they were here on vacation in Iowa with me, but when we needed to use it and called the assistant help, he told us it was just for resident or citizens people! What a not fun surprise!! We paid almost US$300 in this insurance for nothing, because now, the company didn’t refund the money or did anything else while my parents were here. I feel very disappointed and frustrated!
When I bought the policy I was not informed that "any electronics" are not covered in the loss during travel.
I am attempting to file a claim, but receiving very little assistance. I sent proof of the claim via certified mail to Star Indemnity and Liability at 399 Park Avenue in New York (where I was told to send it).
I then tried to call April assistance line, but was unable to get through in two attempts because of heavy call volume. I did receive a call back and explained my dilemma to a very helpful person, who suggested she would send me an email explaining the process I would have to complete the filing of my claim, and suggesting she would check with Star Indemnity to have them send her the information I filed.
I did not receive the email, so I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what I need to do.
It is cumulatively frustrating. I bought travel insurance specifically for these reasons, and it shouldn't be this difficult.

I decided to extend my trip and was disappointed when I received no assistance from customer service when I requested information about the possible extension of the policy. I would expect an answer of yes, no, or maybe. Tu I received no response at all.
It was unclear how long post vacation I had coverage. For example the trip was interrupted due to a positive covid test but the policy only covered 7 days pas the trip's expected end. That was a disappointing discovery.
Claims were submitted tuesday, 8/24. No update on status yet. Not sure where to go to see if they have been reviewed. Hopefully by monday I'll hear back.
