"Cancel For Any Reason" does not in fact mean that. How about a straight forward, honest policy without a ton of fine print?
Appreciated quick and clear response when I had a question enrolling
I called your representative...left a message..she never called back...
Somehow during the buying process I ended up with 2 policies in my name instead of one for my wife and one for me. Unfortunately I did not discover this until shortly before departure. When I tried to correct it April was hard to deal with saying that it was not possible to make insured name changes. After several calls they said they would but I never revived any confirmation that they had done so
Purchasing was smooth and easy and when I asked for a policy paper copy to take with me they provided one within 10 days. We will see how they do with my medical claim...I have file with my healthcare insurance first.
At the very last minute, my group tour was cancelled. I live in New Hampshire, but was already in Connecticut with friends that were also part of the group. When I returned home I contacted April Insurance, only to be told that I should have contacted them the previous day. The representative with whom I spoke told me that she would inquire about an exception when I explained the circumstances. I waited two weeks but heard nothing. I then contacted the company again and was assured that a supervisor would be calling me that very afternoon. That was on the 27th. I have heard nothing since.
I am very disappointed with this service
I always buy travel insurance when traveling but had never had to use it until this trip. I am grateful that I purchased the additional sporting equipment coverage, because 1/5 of our ski bags was delayed (and eventually lost) and I had to rent ski gear. It was very easy to file a claim and payment was prompt once I submitted all of the required documentation. As bad as the ski equipment baggage delay seemed, the trip only got worse, when one of our party had an unexpected medical emergency and died on the day we were supposed to depart. In the immediate aftermath of the death, April Travel's Emergency Assistance representatives were exceedingly helpful in liaising with the foreign funeral home and arranging repatriation, and 99% of those charges were covered by the plan. In addition, because we paid the hospital and first responder costs up front, we filed a claim for those charges upon our return; April's Medical Claim representatives were very responsive and helpful throughout the claims process, and all of our medical expenditures were reimbursed. In addition to our specific interactions with adjusters for repatriation and emergency expenses, we spoke to many April representatives, and everyone was incredibly courteous, sympathetic, and helpful. The only feedback I can offer is for future travel insurance-purchasers: purchase trip interruption coverage. My family opted out of purchasing trip cancellation/interruption coverage because the date we purchased coverage was very close to our departure date and we knew we would not change our plans. The downside of our lack of trip interruption coverage was that the fees we paid to modify our return airfare (the death delayed our return by 24hrs) were not covered by our policy. To future travelers, I strongly recommend purchasing trip interruption coverage, just to be safe. Even though these (relatively small) charges were not covered by the April Policy, April's trip interruption adjuster was very helpful and kind in suggesting ways to investigate whether those charges might be covered by other policies (e.g., credit card trip interruption insurance). I can't say enough good things about April, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a travel insurance policy.
I’ve been talking with them regarding my trip schedule change due to my daughter getting really sick with food poisoning.
So far they are being really polite making me feel protected. 5 stars for their customer service although the case has not yet finished

My daughter got sick in Europe and we had to change train dates. All penalties and ticket price difference were covered smoothly. I’ll definitely use this insurance again👍🏻
Great service and product knowledge from representatives. Felt comfortable and secure traveling abroad w/ April Protection covering my family. Thanks!
I purchased my policy via April. Upon returning from my trip I needed to make a claim. Initially, when I first called the number listed for April the operator had no real idea what I was trying to make a claim on; credit card, accessory, etc.. In this case, it was travel insurance. After a few minutes of confusion on both our ends, I finally mentioned April and she finally knew who she needed to direct my claim towards, otherwise she was conviced I was making a credit card claim. Since then, I have now been in touch with another company, having me fill out paperwork and provide every intricate detail of my travel, a booking # (this is nowhere to be found on my paperwork I’ve received from April initially) even proof of purchase of said item which was a Christmas present. (I’ve had to contact the gift giver, have her print out and send me proof that she bought it. Awkward to say the least.). This 3rd company asking for all the paperwork I’ve never heard of before. Neither of which has called themselves or even referred to “April”. I’ve also noticed that at the bottom of this paperwork all of this and policy has been underwritten by a fourth company. How many databases is my info being entered into? Starting to grasp the idea that April is just a conduit and once a person needs to make a claim they are going to have to jump through various hoops in order to do so. Fair enough. I’m in the process now, too late to turn back and I’d like to be reimbursed for items that I sought to insure. However, the bureaucratic hoops of having to do so are a bit dizzying. I understand the process. I just hope you understand what it’s like on the other end of it. Losing somethings d wanting the means to get it back but having to go through such a process in order to do so.
Thank you for your time.

Some misunderstandings regarding my claim at first. However, upon writing to them, the issue was quickly personally attended to via personal phone call and they were on it. Once things got cleared up my claim was process with efficiency and professionalism. All in all, I’m quite satisfied with the result. Only thing I regret is having to file a file a claim in the first place, but things do happen when traveling. I would recommend April to others. Thank you
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the confusion at the onset of your call.
We were able to reach out to Jones to verify he had everything needed to complete his claim submission, and to offer any assistance, as needed. He did have a couple of questions, which we were happy to answer.
Jones has a pending claim with the airline, which needs to be resolved first, prior to the final review of this claim. Once that final disposition has been received, I have requested his claim be expedited.
I am happy to report, as of this writing, Jones’ claim has been adjudicated, his settlement check will be forthcoming.
