We were faced with a unique situation. Our international flight was cancelled while in route to New York due to the upcoming blizzard. We had to make a very fast devision to purchase new tickets on line on the airplane for a flight leaving that evening to avoid the storm.
Once we returned I filed my claim with April under the trip interruption part of thr plan. We were reimbursed for the full amount we paid on the replacement tickets. I found April to be professional. I will definitely use them again.
Sent us a check with statement that they would be sending a letter to explain reimbursement. Never received letter or explanation of why they did not pay for the entire claim amount submitted..
In the end, everything worked out fine. The difficulties encountered in getting my bills paid abroad lay both with APRIL and with the hospitals abroad. All that were owed money eventually received it, but it took my son in the U.S., my daughter in the U.K., and myself to make this happen. That said, I may use APRIL again because they are the only group I've ever filed a claim with and it did eventually get paid, although not without some minor costs to both me and my daughter and much of my busy children's time.
So far, good interection and response from phone calls made to agents. It remains to be seen how helpful everyone will be once claim is filed.

April has been most uncooperative and uncommunicative. They denied our claim verbally and we have yet to receive any claim forms, or anything else in writing. We are trying to determine what medical condition they are basing their pre existing denial on
