I got stuck because of the snow storm in January and this caused a 3 days delay for us to get back home. I put in a claim to April while 2 other families that were with us put a claim to other companies. The other families got their full reimbursements within about 3 weeks. My claim took over 2 months while I had to keep calling back otherwise they never contact me back. Eventually I got reimbursement but not for my full claim.
Gave it 2/3 stars only because eventually I got something otherwise the experience with them is barely 1 star!

I filed a claim last week and haven't heard back from April.
I am not sure why anyone would use this service unless they felt that they would need the death benefit. I was in Laos when I had my accident. Obviously the customer support group does not understand how 3rd world countries work.
It took way too long to get the claim rejection notice. More than 30 days. Also the cancellation insurance policy was not properly explained. My flight was cancelled the by the carrier, United Airlines the very same morning I was scheduled to leave, due to inclement weather conditions. As a result I was rebooked two days later, and I missed tour features.
I was rejected for the claim because April said, the cancellation only policy ends the day travel begins. This was not clearly explained on the website when I booked the insurance policy. I feel I should have been eligible for some type of remuneration from April insurance.
In making my claim, the instructions were complete and easy to follow. It was a satisfactory experience.. Thank you

We were faced with a unique situation. Our international flight was cancelled while in route to New York due to the upcoming blizzard. We had to make a very fast devision to purchase new tickets on line on the airplane for a flight leaving that evening to avoid the storm.
Once we returned I filed my claim with April under the trip interruption part of thr plan. We were reimbursed for the full amount we paid on the replacement tickets. I found April to be professional. I will definitely use them again.
Sent us a check with statement that they would be sending a letter to explain reimbursement. Never received letter or explanation of why they did not pay for the entire claim amount submitted..
