While the agents were friendly, the amount of paperwork was ridiculous.
I was very pleased that I received my insurance money. You always hear about how insurance companies fight in order not to pay people their due. But I was treated very professionally. I would use your company again in my next travels. I was sorry to miss the trip, but I had to have a double knee replacement surgery. Thank you again for your good service
I made a claim with April insurance upon entering the emergency room, 7,500 miles from home. I was assigned a case worker who seemed to be no more than a receptionist. For one month no action was taken. My case was then taken away from the first agent and escalated to a more senior agent who show no interest in my medical condition, but focused instead ob the purchase date of my insurance and the initial deposit date of my trip. She was clearly searching for any loophole to deny my claim. so it was no surprise that two weeks later, six weeks after making my claim, it was denied as preexisting. I now must hire an attorney as my doctors are all happy to testify that my particular condition was a medical emergency and can never be preexisting.
They take forever to process a claim and the customer service reps are nothing but rude.
I appreciate the help and resolution of the claim. The initial contact did not provide all the information I needed. So, the process was a bit extended. In the end, everything worked out. Thank you.
I haven't heard anything since submission of the claim and it has been over 30+ days since submission.
Individual I was in contact with regarding claim no longer with April. Well over 30 days after I'd submitted my claim. there was absolutely no communication from April that my claim had been processed and paid. Am currently in Costa Rica so receiving mail on a forwarded basis. When I called April. Customer support (you Think you are speaking directly with claims because of telephone tree Selections) could not tell me if They'd even received my claim! Was told I'd receive a call back that day from claims notifying me of status. No Call back. Called back the next day. Had to get angry on phone to get transferred to actual claims dept. And supervisor in claims to get answers. She apologized, and was able to tell me immediately that my claim had been paid and mailed out a couple of weeks previously.
I am a licensed insurance agent and have been selling / promoting April via Squaremouth. Really like the concept of this particular insurance product for individuals who travel in/ out of country repeatedly, however the customer service experience left a Lot to be desired.
Utterly useless from start to finish. When you eventually get someone to talk to on the phone they expect you to know the exact details of claim processing before they will even send you the paperwork to make a claim - how can they expect you to frame your statements in their exact terms when they haven't sent you the forms that contain their terms and refuse to send the forms unless you can tell?! It's like playing "Think of a number from 1 to a 1,000,000 and unless you get it right I'm doing anything for you." Once you file the claim you get a form email & that's the last you hear from them. They farm the processing out to another insurance company. They did not respond to follow up questions, failed to resolve the claim within their own timelines, and when they do finally pay the claim they provide no detail and do not tell you what was approved and what was denied. The policy is essentially useless as far as I can tell: after $3000+ in travel losses/expenses they paid out $300. Or maybe it's really good and I just didn't ask for the right form (because they wouldn't tell me which forms I needed to ask for). I'll never know because I won't be going near them ever again.
Four months before the departure date of my trip to Asia, I purchased your policy. Six weeks before departure date I slipped on ice while walking in a half-marathon. Injuries included broken jaw, broken nose, stitches in chin and several broken teeth. Fortunately, the maxillofacial surgeon and dentist gave me an okay to go on the trip anyway. However, while my departure was in doubt, I read through your policy and was shocked to see your long list of exclusions.
Your company promotes a false sense of security about coverage instead of being transparent about the two dozen or so exclusions. I would be surprised if there's any kind of event that makes it through that list of exclusions--and that you accept responsibility for covering.
Easy to get and have been a prior customer and have received excellent customer service.
