I called the carrier to make a change on the policy information and received a voicemail. I didn't receive a call back before I had to travel, so the change wasn't made. The documentation arrived by email in a timely manner and by mail while I was on vacation.

The first few times I tried to call the emergency help line, on a Saturday morning, there was no answer and no way to leave a message. I tried again on Monday, two days later, and received an answering machine but no one called me back. Finally, I was able to get through to someone either later that day or the next day. When I was able to reach people on the help line, they were very helpful and pleasant.

The claim check was processed on February 16, 2010, but I didn't receive it until March 4, 2010. Part of this delay, at least a few days' worth, is because I have an overseas address. The paperwork I had to provide was extensive and somewhat burdensome, including some things that might have been difficult to prove if I had been asked. For instance, the time/date provided by the airline's website for delivery of our lost luggage was not actually the date/time it was delivered as that date/time was much later. In any case, I was very pleased from the standpoint of the people I was able to speak with on the help line and also, of course, pleased that they paid my claim without requesting any follow-up documentation. Of course, I had given them everything plus the kitchen sink, so.... I would use this provider again and I think the claim turnaround time was quite fast, all things considered.

Clain "requires" original receipts. There was no "original receipt for a cash purchased air e-ticket bought in an emergency. I hope I collect. It took me a week to get an airline confirmation of this purchase so I could complete my claim.
