It's been two months since I filled the initial claim. I've called weekly for the past 3 weeks requesting status. Still no meaningful update on the status of my claim. Additionally, the documentation requested seems excessive for a pretty straightforward $1,300 medical claim. I get the sense they are burying claim applicants with "send more documentation" to delay or avoid paying claims. The last call on 8/4, I was put on hold so the agent could "go upstairs to check on my status". After about 5 minutes on hold, she came back to say that all the required documentation seemed to have been received. When I asked about ETA, she suggested it could be another 20 days. I got the sense I was just put on hold to give me an impression that she was looking into my claim status versus actually doing so. I was hoping for something more specific like the name of the agent reviewing the claim, where I stood in the que, and what if anything they still needed to process the claim. The week before, the agent I spoke with sent an email to the "claims review department", copying me, suggesting I should be emailed status within 24 hours. I never received an email with a status update.
Wanted to change a person on the policy due unforeseen circumstances. Can’t change and didn’t realize that.

We were pleased to have 100% of our claim reimbursed. We ended up having to resubmit documentation we had already submitted, but then the decision was just what we hoped--full payment.
Appreciate SquareMouth has many options to choose from, but in a way it was too many. Hard for me to tell the differences between them.
Re customer support while on the trip: although I was expecting a little more help in finding nearby health clinic to go to, the rep sent the form right away which was much appreciated.
None at this point - the proof of the pudding is in how difficult the claim process is and whether the claim is assessed in a fair manner and actually paid in a timely manner. - so I will wait and see.
My only interaction with IMG was determining (during my trip) how my trip insurance was going to help with issues (caused by the power outage in Portugal and continuing until our bags arrived 5 days later). The agent I spoke to reviewed my policy and explained my options (file with the airline first, IMG second OR skip filing with the airline and just file with IMG). I filed the claim when I got home and now I'm awaiting the completion of their processing.
Of course depending on the outcome I might change my rating.
I purchased the insurance with no intention of using it. But our travel companions got sick (cancer) so we needed to adjust our trip. Submitted my claim in April 2025. The claim is still unresolved. Weeks with no communications. So I'm a little disappointed.
