IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Chose this policy based on price and the fact that the full cost of the trip need not be covered to maintain the pre-existing condition waiver. Pre-trip discussions with customer service very helpful in terms of deciding whether to increase coverage due to additional expenses incurred.
Purchased this policy because it did not require full-trip coverage to maintain pre-existing coverage waiver. Agents helpful in discussing possible increase of coverage after initial purchase. Medical issue during trip resolved promptly by a Teledoc phone call and visit to an ER, which went smoothly enough. IMG promptly reimbursed me for medications and taxi fare; the foreign hospital has not yet billed for the ER visit and might not.
Buying the policy was easy.
Our experience filing the cancellation claim has been awful. We tried to file the claim online, but the IMG website was not working. It would not let us input the medical documentation. We spoke to an IMG representative, and she had us fill it out send it in through their email. It was properly filled out and submitted on April 24. We have all the uploads. From there, it has been a comedy of errors. However, we are not laughing.
First someone sent it to the UK office, which eventually contacted us to refile with the US office. We contacted the US office, and they said they had received the information from the UK office too, and that they would process our claim again.
Then we received an email saying the claim was incomplete, and it showed our claim was missing all the forms we had sent in on April 24! We called the main US office and told them we had sent in all the documents. They looked and said yes, in fact, we had correctly sent them in by email on April 24. Every time we check the status online, it says it cannot be completed because information is missing. When we call them and ask what is missing, they say nothing is missing, we just have to give them time to process it.
I did have a medical problem during my trip. A spider bit me and my lower right leg was swollen, inflamed, and bleeding in places. I called IMG and reached voice mail; it may have been before business hours (why no 24 hour service?). I left my name and policy number; due to distress I forgot to leave my phone number which they have on file. I never received a call back. I will never buy IMG again.
Went online, submitted the details about the claim and a copy of the receipt for the medical services incurred by my wife while in The Netherlands. Was offered the option to receive reimbursement in euros or dollars as well as a direct deposit to my bank account.
Received regular updates, with no further need for me to supply additional information. Claim was paid timely.
I will look to book another policy with IMG when I next travel outside the US.
I have delayed my insurance with IMG until 2027. My trip was canceled due to the conflict in the Middle-East.
I have sub my all of the paperwork but have been having trouble because every time I send them what they asked for another email shows up asking for something else . The trip was cancelled and I was in the VA Hospital having surgery on May 6, 202. I had a total knee replacement.
I am hoping that this claim is resolved soon.
We had used your service 3 years ago for a trip to Ireland.
I will be happy to do another review after the claim is paid.
My wife filed a claim last week as our trip was interrupted by a family death 2 days into our trip. Awaiting progress on the claim.
Buying the policy was easy, as it is for all travel insurance purchasing online. But closer to the trip when I wanted to increase my coverage based on costs we had added on to our trip (hotel bookings, final payments on portions of the trip, etc.), it was not a one-step, simple process. Instead, I had to write to the email address of the insurance provider (not Squaremouth, which was just the broker), and wait several days for their quote for the additional premium due, then I had to accept that quote and pay the additional premium, then wait more days for the coverage increase to take effect. In the past I have been able to increase coverage on trip insurance right up until the day before travel and it has been instantaneously effective, but not in this case, which was very frustrating and I was lucky to have not waited too long. The carrier was IMG so maybe this all has to do with them and not Squaremouth. But as I can't be sure, I won't be buying through Squaremouth again so as not to risk it.
I accidentally enterrd the incorrect trip start day by one day when I booked the policy. I called to see if we could correct it, once I noticed. Not only did they correct it quickly and easily, they didn't charge anything for the extra day. I was happy with the coverage, price and support.
