IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
The claim process has been pretty good BUT, but they needed more information and did not tell me that all at once. Asked me to submit one item. When that was submitted, asked for another and then another. All the items could have been asked for at once. Unfortunately, it delayed the refund, which I have yet to receive. On the positive side, communication was good, letting me know that forms were received.
It would be nice if the could provide further only updates or at least tell you where the claims are beg held up.
We heard today that the "check's in the mail" for our requested reimbursement for medical expenses on our cruise. The claim form were easy to complete, easy to attach documentation, and it appears that the reimbursement check is in the mail. All very satisfactory. Thank you.
I have purchased a lot of trip insurance through your agency. This is the first time I have had a claim. I never go the cheapest because I want a better experience. My issue falls back on me and is totally my fault. I always copy the contract and again expect the top companies to be fair. I booked a policy for my girlfriend and my sell at a cost of a title over $2000 for the two. It was for a trip from December 12 for two days in San Juan and the departing on the 14th of December to Jan 3rd on Seabourn and ending in Barbados. The 3rd while on an excursion that was going to deliver me to the airport I was notified that because of the US closing the airspace in the Caribbean American Airlines was canceling my flight and the earliest they could get me on a flight was the 11th. Scrambling I found hotels to accommodate me. I had to book two different hotels due to available rooms in season in Barbados. 5 cruise ships dropped people that day and all the people looking to get home made it tough. Long story short I wound up with 8 days and a bill off $7316.57.I filed a claim and sent all the info. Today I got an email saying that they were covering $1250 per person as per their contract. $125 a day per person! This may be industry standard but absolutely crazy. Where can two people stay anywhere for a day for $250 including meals.Especially in the Caribbean in season or Europe.I assumed that the more expensive companies would have good coverage. My mistake I am sure an 8 day delay is unusual.Anyway I am in the process of looking for insurance for two trips to Europe this year and will shop every insurance group to make sure that I get the best reasonable coverage for my money. I plan on filing an appeal with the company but expect that it won’t go far . Depending on the outcome I will turn to the internet to make sure people are aware of the low coverages that they will deal with and not to assume that they are getting better coverage by paying more and going with the bigger well know companies.
Policy cost beat most competitors. Claim submission process was very easy. Claim was paid in a timely fashion. Very satisfied!!
Terrible customer experience prior to trip. Needed to change date the policy started. I was told no one was available to do that and I could only do it through email but the email address I was given did not work. Called squaremouth and they gave me a phone number to call where someone was available to change it over the phone. Ultimately it was resolved but should not have taken three phone calls.
I only claimed for hotel costs as I considered scanning or otherwise devising a way to attach numerous restaurant receipts, and figuring currency conversions, too time-consuming to deal with. Had not seen the fine print of $150 max/day reimbursement for hotel costs after flight delay due to weather, so did not recoup all charges ($460), but a $300 refund came quickly to my checking account, and I was pleased about that. Thank you for following up. I have used Squaremouth for a very long time, never had to file a claim before, and I will continue to purchase my travel insurance needs through Squaremouth. I appreciate your level of engagement.
I am not impressed with the IMG rep. She is not very nice. I bought cancel for any reason insurance from them for more than 10% the cost of the trip. The trip cancelled because of Snow storm Fern. I was supposed to fly the morning after the biggest part of storm 1/26. Two state of emergencies were issued in my state. I notified IMG immediately to let them know I'd be putting in a claim for partial coverage of trip cost as soon as I knew the amount the tour company was going to issue back. The amount I am asking from IMG is less than a 1/5 of the trip cost of Tour company was kind enough to consider the circumstances. No one can predict the weather in these cases- sometimes its worse than anticipated & sometimes we are lucky that it turns out better. I can only hope that IMG does the right thing. It remains to be seen.

Difficult to discuss claim with person. All done online despite communication problems. They thought I was asking for entire cost of tour- about $2900. I inititally forwarded several very clear pages requesting only the balance the tour company did not give me which amounted to about $508. I could not help but feel they did not go over everything thoroughly until I had to write back and tell them to review the paperwork again. The original documentation must have been enough as they rescinded their denial and reimbursed the remaining $508 balance. I'm relieved that they held up to their side of the bargain but was not too happy about how I was initially dismissed.
So far, the claim filing experience has been smooth. Two in our party could not travel because of last-minute medical issues which we have since documented for IMG. We are currently waiting for word on the claim.

We were very disappointed when two members of our party got sick right before our trip, and could not travel with us. But after the trip, IMG made the claim process very straight-forward so that the non-traveling members of our party were able to submit their documentation and get reimbursed for that part of the trip that the cruise company would not refund.
I will let you know after I file my claim.

The claim process was fairly easy and settled within 2 weeks.
