This trip insurance is a necessary evil. I’d rather not have to purchase it.
My husband slipped and needed stitches while on our trip in the Galapagos Islands. I tried calling twice and was put on hold for 15 mins for an emergency call. This was so stressful on so many levels! When I eventually reached a representative they were not helpful at all. We were lucky that the hospital we went to did not charge for his care. We are very unsatisfied and will most likely not purchase insurance with IMG for our next trip.
Will definitely utilize IMG again. An easy and pleasant experience at a great value.
We planned to go to Jerusalem on April 14, however war broke out in March putting a travel band at a Level 4. Our Airline canceled our flights on March 18 and were were unable to take our trip.
I filed a claim with IMG to get funds back on our stay in Jerusalem on March 20th and it was denied on March 27. I appealed the claim on April 14th, and it was received and forwarded to their Appeals Team.
They will notify me of their decision within 90 days, which should be before July 14th.

Customer service was very helpful in explaining the coverage of my policy.
We unfortunately had to cancel our trip to Morocco due to a medical symptom that surfaced that needed to be diagnosed and if needed treated. This was my first claim of this kind so I was wary about the process given the reputation of travel insurance companies and some of the reviews from people who submitted claims. To my surprise, the claims process with IMG went relatively smoothly. I did need to submit the information multiple times and know now to highlight/label the specific information requested on the documents so the detail requested was self-evident. And I also found out that receipts from travel companies were insufficient and need to be accompanied by the actual credit card statement highlighting each cost relevant to the claim. I also learned that in the medical certificate not only needed the reasons for not traveling but that I was healthy and "travel ready" at the time of purchase of the insurance. I had to bother my doctor twice for two documents. Having had this experience, I'll be better prepared if I need to make a claim in the future. When submitting documentation, the IMG staff are good at getting back to you indicating that the information was received and listing out what additional information is required. It is a process that does take time - just be patient and provide the specific information requested as many times as requested. Be as explicit as possible.
All my questions were answered during a pre- purchase phone call. Easy to purchase, reasonable price, good coverage. I did not need it, but good to know I had it just in case.
Agent i spoke with on phone was very helpful.
I wanted to make a claim but was told that my issue did not qualify. I misunderstood the coverage and was a bit disappointed.
The insurance was a relief when we had a dental emergency overseas. The claim process was simple and efficient.
