I am waiting on my claim
I was flying into Cancun for a wedding right when a hurricane was hitting. I was afraid we needed to cancel our trip. When I called the agent told me I’m not able to, since we have to wait for the flight and the hotel to cancel our trip. We ended up going and the hurricane passed. Next time I know which insurance to get. I just wish I was educated a bit more in which policy does what. Either way, I’m happy I purchased!
I was well impressed with my experience buying travel insurance. It was my first time doing so with this company. The price was great, the application process couldn't have been more straightforward, and when I had to contact customer service during my travel, I was connected quickly to a knowledgeable agent based in the U.S.
Customer service was very vague and couldn't give much advice, only assistance on how to file a claim.
Best bang for the buck. Have had a claim in the past which was handled easily, but not this time. My go to for travel insurance
My son injured his toe quite severely on our trip. I called and was given all the information I needed and was approved for medical care while in Portugal. The closest hospital was a public hospital and they were able to care for him sufficiently and did not take insurance, so we did not need to pursue the claim any further. However, I have no doubt that the agents would have worked with me to help me through the whole process if we would have needed to submit a claim.
I was on layover in Egypt air and someone pretending to be Egyptair representative charged $335 on my pay pal account
I only picked this company because of their name.
We filed a claimed after we got back from our trip due to medical emergency for my brother who went on the trip with us. No one told us that we had to have prior authorization to show his tooth was bad, (he needed a root canal), nor were we told that we had to file a claim on the day that his problem showed up. We submitted the forms but now we have to complete the physicians form when he was having tooth pain, etc,. and cannot because we could not get into a medical emergency dentist due to his insurance. My brother flew home early 6 days due to his worsening condition with his mouth. The rest of the family finished the trip and came home 6 days later and filed a claim 2 days later do to weekend and flight on Saturday. Needless to say, after calling the Berkshire insurance, it has been a hassle to get any help for the claim.
BHTP is probably the worst travel protection I’ve ever used. I’ve left multiple emails, calls (messages), and filled a claim. It’s been over a month since my first complaint and they’ve never reached back out to me. I will not be using again.
