IMG has turned down our well-documented claim for partial reimbursement for postponed travel due to my wife’s unscheduled surgery, citing a pre-existing condition outside the travel window. We disagree that the condition requiring surgery was pre-existing and also that it happened outside the travel window (occurring inside the window warrants an exception.) Our appeal is pending.
Only interaction i had was to ask for insurance cards. Luckily no claim to be made. I was nervous as if this policy would pay out if needed.

The process of filing was pretty complicated, because I had to turn up all my flight itineraries, boarding passes, and receipts. A default sum for meals and missed accommodations during the flight delay would have been great, as the extended travel delay meant that I was a bit scattered and lost some of my receipts. Still, once I had the claim in, there was no further hassle, and they paid most of my claim even though I didn't have receipts for everything.
Claims are in process. Customer service representative (telephone call) directed me to the website to initiate the claims process. Very time consuming and detailed. Await necessary information from the airlines to complete.
The website was very clear when purchasing an insurance plan. I am awaiting documentation from the airline in order to file a claim for trip interruption due to plane mechanical issues. I spoke with a representative who was very helpful with helping me prepare to file my claim. Thank you.
