IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
We chose to add to our insurance amounts as our vacation costs became unrefundable. It would seem that there would be some cost advantages for doing so since IMG was not insuring 6 months of potential illnesses, falls, or mishaps that might interfere with our travel plans, yet each time the cost percentage went up from 2.667 percent for the initial $6K at 7 months out, 2.777 percent when we increased to $12K--- 2 months out, and 2.84% when all our costs went hard for the total $16K, the day before we left.
This was probably due to your folks decision to never change the effective date of the policy with each policy increase. I think that approach is wrong and I will probably think twice about using IMG again.
HORRIBLE! They basically denied the claim before we even completed submission. We had to file a claim back in 2016 for pneumonia with a different carrier we purchased thru SquareMouth and it was easy and fair. IMG is INHUMAN; UNPROFESSIONAL; and FALSELY REPRESENTS THEIR COVERAGE.
Fortunately I didn’t need to use the insurance, so I really can’t comment.
Go First airlines filed for bankruptcy a few weeks before our trip, but was not canceling flights until a few days beforehand. We called IMG to inquire about how to file a claim, but were told we could not until the flight was officially canceled. (We were NOT told that we could not rebook on another airline and be reimbursed.) That left us with no option but to book a new flight on a different airline to ensure we did not miss the rest of our trip that we'd paid for. Once we returned home, we had the cancelation information from Go First, but IMG declined to reimburse us for the canceled flight because we rebooked with another airline prior to our policy beginning on the first day of our trip. It is unacceptable that we paid for trip insurance to cover exactly this type of issue, yet we are not being reimbursed. We aren't even asking for coverage of the new, more expensive flight. We simply want to recover the lost funds from the first flight.
This was our first time purchasing trip insurance and I can't imagine purchasing it again if the can't even get reimbursed for a canceled flight from a bankrupt airline.
IMG made it very easy to transfer a policy from one trip to another. I will definitely use them again.
Easy to understand and good communications
It was fantastic! I have no complaints.
Prior to taking the trip I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma. I had to cancel the trip. However, the rental agency indicated that I would receive at least a partial refund. I contacted IMG who advised me to wait on filing the claim that I had 30 days. The rental agency, then told me they were going to refund my money, but have yet to do it, I contacted IMG again to see if I should file the claim or would they be willing to extend the deadline on waiting? IMG has been very difficult to work with my answers are unclear and vague and I’m worried that if the agency does not refund my money as promised it will also be too late to file a claim.
I would love to know what you think I should do. Thank you, Mike.

IMG was terrible to communicate with. I will never purchase a policy with them in the future!
Great customer service. No claim.
I am in the process of filing a claim now and it is not going smoothly. The claims adjusters have sent a form letter asking for additional documentation as if they never bothered to even review the documentation I had already sent. You cannot communicate with them via email.
