I have not been very happy with this insurance policy nor have I been happy with my claims adjuster. Customer service is not his immediate goal. He is quite cold and direct and not very understanding or easy to chat with. Additionally, my claim has taken forever and the system is quite archaic. You would think everything could be done digitally through a system platform rather than exchanging 10s of emails and having to chat with someone on the phone. I'd also thought a video call option would be available so I could take care of my claim abroad. The process is not speedy nor efficient and the customer service is not great. Lastly, the documentation of the policy is not clearly written or explicit because what my adjuster is asking of me for proof is not clearly stated in the policy documents. For example, the adjuster wanted my full itinerary to and from the US but I was not traveling to and from the US because I was traveling for an extended period of time and wanted insurance to cover the specific country. The policies should be clearly written explaining what to and from means. The adjuster explaining this was not very understanding nor accommodating nor polite. He was quite cold and unpleasant to work with. I have not been happy with the policy nor the customer service nor the process of filing a claim. I would not recommend this insurance to any fellow travelers especially those who are traveling for extended periods of time to multiple countries.

My insurance adjuster was not very friendly. It seemed like customer service was not his top priority. He was quite rude. I understand that there are policies in place but the way to communicate them is a different thing. He came off apathetic and was not helpful in the process at all. He was often cold, monotone and asking for a document but not giving any more specifications or willing to work with me. Also the policy itself was not clearly explicit in the documents. When he was referring to the max amount possible to be refunded as defined by a certain term, this was NOT clear in the written documents because I did look and read and it was up to interpretation. Furthermore, as a travel insurance policy there should be multiple ways to communicate instead of only by phone. For example, through an online platform, a chat, or a video call. I was often in remote places that had poor service so to schedule an international phone call was really inconvenient, at times. I would not choose this insurance again.
The Tin Leg team processed my claim in two parts. Each process was handled professionally and timely. Tin Leg provides an comfort layer to travel to handle the unexpected.
So far, so good. The customer service representative with whom I spoke was EXCELLENT in her clarity, knowledge of the procedure that I should follow in filing a claim and her general business like demeanor. I feel confident that will claim will receive a fair evaluation and settlement.

Tin Leg was useless. I was in a hospital in Italy for 30 days. Difficult to speak with them as they called in the middle of the night and nobody to speak with when I called back. Shuffled around. I didn't ask for much because my hospital stay was covered under Universal Health Care. I didn't ask for much but what I did ask for was refused. They did nothing. They did not cover anything. I would never use them again. And I tell everyone about my horrible experience with Tin Leg. I would have given them 0 stars had there been that option.

Travel insurance worked as expected in a timely manner. Our connection was changed to 11 hours later than scheduled. We were reimbursed for our hotel and food. It took 9 business days with a few simple emails back and forth. I always travel with travel insurance. This is the second time the airlines said it wasn’t their fault and my travel insurance covered my expenses.
I need to talk to them about my claim first and see how it goes.

Tin leg is putting us through many requirements that I don’t think are necessary. Like airline flights that are unrelated to the airline trip that resulted in delayed baggage.
