Helpful advice given (via chat) regarding type and cost of short term insurance I needed.
We appreciated the timely service you provided in our claim. The questions you asked were appropriate. Your follow-up questions were also appropriate and we received our claim within a week of the claim closure.
Absolutely fantastic to deal with!!
I had to cancel my cruise because my sister and traveling partner ended up in the hospital a week before our trip. Of course, her doctor said she couldn't go. Tin Leg just requested a letter from her doctor, proof that she was my traveling companion and the invoice showing the cost of the trip. In a week or so my claim was approved and the money deposited directly into my bank account.
When I plan my next vacation there is no question I will protect my investment by purchasing travel Insurance through Tin Leg!!
I'm just amazed how well the process of filing a claim went.
My wife had emergency knee surgery about a month before we left, so we could not go on our dream retirement cruise. This was a 49 day cruise on Oceania - so not cheap. About $42K, and the claims specialists didn't blink at all about the amount.
I did have to provide documents showing our loss - but these were reasonable documents: A copy of Oceania's cancellation policy, a copy of the paid invoice for the cruise and the invoice for the non-refundable hotel room in Tahiti before our flight home. We used some credits from Hotels.com to pay for half of that hotel, and Tin Leg reimbursed us for those credits as well. They should have, of course, but they did it without question. No fights, no hassles whatsoever.
I'm very impressed, considering that the cost of this policy was about 40% less than what I was quoted by our travel agent or what I could find only. I will definitely use Tin Leg again.
I did not need to use the insurance so no real interaction with the company. I will be needing travel insurance in he future and will consider Tin Leg. I have no strong feelings either way.
So clear- really easy to pick what works best. You are awesome!
I wish there had more options for the physicians report as it was hard for me to get it from my fathers doctor.
Claim process was fast and easy. I would definitely recommend Tin Leg for your next trip
I have never used my travel insurance for medical treatment, however I worry that I might not get emergency treatment overseas without it.
We bought insurance for a big family trip to New Zealand and it was easy to sign up, the prices were reasonable, the coverage clear and good.
Although the rest of us had no [problems on the trip, my daughter, Emily, missed a connection due to late arrival of her airplane. She was stuck in LA for 24 hours before she could board her next flight and was given a hotel (after two hours of waiting!) and $20 in vouchers for the day but that the restaurant at the hotel only opened at lunch and that she could only use the vouchers at the hotel..
Emily called Tin Leg asking about what if anything, they could do to help. She said the agent was very sympathetic and said that she should keep her receipts for meals and incidentals and to submit to Tin Leg when she returned from her trip. I believe she called late at night and appreciated that someone came on quickly and was very on the ball.
She is pulling together her receipts (only for a few meals) but if the claims process is as easy as the rest of it I intend to use squaremouth and tin leg for all of our longer trips going forward.
Thank you for being so responsive!
