I have the highest compliments for every person we spoke with during the five months it took to process our claims. Our dissatisfaction with this company is not with the employees, but with what appears to be an inept system. It took five months to complete our claim for a variety of reasons, which we found to be ridiculously long.

I didn't expect to have to cancel my trip because of terrorism. In fact, I didn't initially realize that the policy I purchased covered a terrorism attack. But I was glad to have the opportunity to postpone my trip to Paris to a calmer time. I was very impressed with how quickly Travel Assured dealt with the claim and sent me a check. Their customer service is excellent.

Travel Insured International policy: Worldwide Trip Protector

We had to return home from our trip early because of the critical condition of my mother. We had to buy new tickets at the last minute which cost more than our original round trip tickets. I filed a claim with Travel Insured when we got home. They handled the claim quickly and mailed me a check for the cost of the return tickets. I was very satisfied with them.
On the other hand, we had travel insurance for another trip in that same time period that we had to cancel because of my mother's condition. This was with Trawick (GBG). They were terrible in their responsiveness and after 6 months working on it, they ended up not paying because it turns out that they have and exception to coverage of a pre-existing condition hidden in the fine print around page 10 that excludes a "terminal diagnosis." so they will not pay anything. I believe this company is a fraud and recommend not using them or else be sure to go through the fine print with a fine toothed comb.

The amount of information was a little overwhelming but when I called to clarify, the person on the phone was very helpful.

We did not go on the trip. There was a medical issue that prevented travel. We have filed a claim for trip reimbursement. There was quite a bit of paperwork involved, but we got through it all. We are now waiting to hear from Travel Insured International.

Travel Insured International policy: Worldwide Trip Protector Plus

Bottom line, I give Travel Insured 4 stars because they did pay out on my claims.

Bought 2 policies from Travel Insured for my niece's and my trip to Africa. She had a different return date hence 2 policies. She became quite ill and we had to get medical care, spend an extra night at one of the lodges on our itinerary, miss the corresponding planned safari camp stay on our itinerary, and miss a visit to the one of the national parks for which all park entry fees had been pre-paid.

Travel Insured (TI) required a lot of documentation (itineraries, flight schedules, proof of payment for the trip) and I had to complete numerous forms. After submitting everything TI required, I had to call numerous times to check on the claim status. Finally got to speak with the actual claims analyst and get the claim resolved.
