My wife had a medical emergency in Mexico that thankfully turned out not to be serious. Though costs for Resort Doctor, Ambulance and ER visit were incurred. Most of the cost was picked up/reimbursed by her health insurance plan. The Ambulance and a prescribed meds were not. Travel Insured International picked up the non covered items and we were reimbursed quite promptly. Also calls were made to the Travel Insurance emergency hotline during this time and a case file number was established during the vacation. All contact was courteous and helpful and they even called me to see how my wife was doing while we were at the resort. Have been a past customer of theirs and will definitely use Travel Insured International again for future travel insurance.
I submitted the claim since December, and currently Mid of March I am still waiting for the claim. Insurance company takes too long (about 4 weeks) to respond and once they respond asking for more paperwork, then when I submit the paperwork as requested , I have to wait for at least 4 weeks for them to respond and surly they will ask for more paperwork. This has become frustrating as I submitted all receipts from hospital (I was treated) and other expenses that related. I paid all hospital bill in advance and other expenses using my credit card and occurs interest on my credit bill because I am still waiting for insurance to reimburse. I will never purchase with this company again.
