Easy to buy.
Excellent customer service.
I would have liked the option of purchasing just an emergency medical plan. I also think it needs to be easier to find if the insurer is Primary or Secondary. Otherwise I found the website to be very intuitive and easy to navigate
My go to place for trip insurance.
Promptly sent information to file my claim. It was very clear what was needed to return for their verification. I am awaiting the claim outcome.
Great on line process. I hope we never have to file a claim. Policy seemed to cover what we needed but don't know until disaster strikes.
We purchased travel insurance, however our river cruise had to be canceled due to low water levels on the Rhine River. When we called we were advised we had 30 months to book another cruise and use the insurance coverage. We would have preferred a rebate of our money.
Didn't go on trip. Was refused trip cancellation.
We are sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip. Our records do not indicate that you have notified us of your cancellation. Please contact us at 1-800-243-3174 to discuss your coverage and initiate your claim.
1. You don't make it clear who or what Squaremouth is and how it differs from the insurer (in my case, Travel Insured International). For those who rarely purchase travel insurance, you should de-mystify this process and explain how things work.
2. You should warn purchasers that if they file a claim, they will need extensive documentation and should save every scrap of paper, every receipt, every document.
3. I have filed a claim, but have not yet heard back from the insurer. I don't yet know if the insurer will respond in a friendly way or in a way that makes me regret working with them. I paid a lot of money for my policy; I hope they won't go cheap on me.
4. I had a hard time selecting an insurer. You should clarify the differences between insurers and various policies and coverages. You should see yourselves as an advocate for the customer.
Review Updated: 01/25/2019
I made two claims in late 2018 to Travel Insured International for trip interruption and medical expenses. While they paid the medical claim, they were extremely slow in reviewing the trip interruption claim, did not return phone messages, did not answer calls to individual staff members, and refused payment on some items. Now, almost three months after my loss, they continue to argue with me about payment. All my claims were reasonable and well-documented. I am extremely disappointed in Travel Insured International and advise travelers to avoid them.
Good customer service on a medical issue I had here in Berlin.
