The claim process was straightforward and it took less than 2 months to settle it.
Contact with representatives was exceptional, she was knowledgeable and able to answer my questions thoroughly and came across as very personable.
I sent u a long email and did not get a response from u. We paid extra for cancellation for any reason thinking that’s what it meant. Then when the travel company we used went out of business they said that was an exclusion! Then it shouldn’t be advertised for any reason. I am a senior and when something says that we take it for its word! Very discouraging . We even asked for the money we spent for the policy to be returned.
It does not represent your company well and I would
Not use that company again or your company if this issue is not resolved. I have several people I have recommended your company to many people but not since this happened. Please contact them and us ASAP. We need our money back!
We apologize for any frustrations you may have experienced, and would be happy to follow up with you regarding this claim. After checking with our Claim Department, it appears that we advised that you would need to dispute the charges for this tour on your credit card first and we then reimbursed the prepaid unused hotel penalty under the CFAR benefit. It was then indicated that you were reusing the airline tickets, so those are non-refundable. We will be reaching out to you shortly to clarify any questions you may have and to help explain what you need to do regarding the tour portion of the trip. Thank you!
I received the amount I requested for my claim but the documents required was too much.
A written letter and a form to be filled out from the Doctor was too much. Very difficult for a busy doctor to do. I recommend that the doctor either write one letter or fill out one form. Not both.
Quick! Easy! Covered all my concerns. Better than insurance offered through Cruise Line. Happy I didn’t have to make a claim.
The integrity shown by Kathleen Fox and Travel Insured International (as well as the kind, helpful reception I received from the lady I first spoke to on the telephone claims line) ensures that yours will be the first company I consult for future travel insurance needs.
NOTE: Our claim for medical expense reimbursement is still pending (we are awaiting claims processing by Blue Cross/Blue Shield before YOU can determine TII's responsibility).
My trip to Italy was cancelled due to work. I have filed a claim and am awaiting the outcome. The process has been easy overall.
My experience in filing a claim with Travel Insured International was excellent. It required filling out a number of forms but once that was done and submitted the claim was handled in a timely manner and the payment was transferred quickly to my bank account. I was very pleased with my interaction with this company.
Following is a copy of an email I sent to Travel Insured International with a copy to the CT Insurance Department. The processing of my claim was absolutely abysmal. You should not allow them to sell insurance on your website.

Dear Ms Raymer,
I am in receipt of your April 17, 2019 letter (attached) regarding my claim.
Your letter states, in part, that reimbursement for the cost of a second insurance policy, which was an additional expense I incurred due to the delay/interruption of our trip, is not a covered item.
I have reviewed my policy's benefit coverages for both trip delay and trip interruption and find that your statement is accurate. I rescind my request to initiate a formal grievance.
It is unfortunate that much time and energy was spent on this matter by me and employees of the Connecticut Insurance Department because it was all so unnecessary. If Travel Insured had simply sent me correspondence, in a timely manner, with the explanation contained in your April 17th letter, the matter would have been closed long ago without need for the Insurance Department’s involvement.
Instead, I received nothing but the sound of silence from the time I submitted my claim, on December 17, 2018, for reimbursement of the insurance premium, until March 2019 when you responded to an inquiry from the Insurance Department, sent on my behalf. To make matters worse, your response contained erroneous information which had to be addressed through additional research and correspondence.
Once I received a copy of your letter from the Insurance Department, I sent a letter to you pointing out the erroneous information it contained and advising that I wanted to begin the formal grievance procedure. After receiving a phone call from Mark Donzel (not sure of the last name), a Travel Insured employee, I received your April 17th letter.
Bottom line, it took 4 full months before I received a reply to my claim and it wasn’t even sent directly to me. I had to get it from a third party, the Insurance Department. I might also add, that during the 4 month period, I sent 3 emails to Travel Insured’s claims department requesting status information on my claim; these, too, were all ignored.
I also want to mention that I was subjected to poor treatment when my initial claim was submitted on October 3, 2018. That claim was partially paid on December 13, 2018; why it took so long to partially pay a well documented claim consisting of 2 items to be reimbursed remains a mystery. In addition, the balance of my claim was not paid until January 28, 2019 and only after the intervention of the Insurance Department.
My whole experience with your company leads me to believe either its employees are exceedingly incompetent or company practices include the use of various tactics to minimize or totally avoid making claim payments.
Either way, an investigation into how Travel Insured International does business may be warranted.
