Since there was no contact with my insurance carrier, they were fine. The airline,Alitalia, however was awful, going over we should have been contacted earlier about the delays since they knew about them. All systems were go on all our screens ( which were false). We missed our connecting flight to Florence, had to take a bus to that airport and almost had to delay our scheduled classes arriving at 2::00 a.m.. We did however miss a scheduled dinnerTuesday evening that we had pre-paid for at a Michelen Star restaurant in Tredozio.
Ouur trip over was a disaster.

We thought my husband would not be able to go do to work. He called the insurance carrier and talked to them about what we needed to do in this case. They were very infomative and helpful.

During Trip
I bought the insurance for medical outside the United States because Medicare does not provide coverage. Did not use any benefits because I could not get to Croatia because of volcanic ash.
