What Is It?

The Squaremouth connector brings real-time travel insurance quotes into Claude. Whether you’re planning a trip and want to compare coverage options or you’re ready to buy a policy now, Claude can pull accurate quotes based on your trip details without you ever leaving the chat.

No account or login is required. To get started, just tell Claude about your upcoming trip.

Getting Started

Claude.ai (Web)

Open claude.ai
Go to Settings > Integrations > Add MCP Server
Enter the server URL: https://quote-mcp.squaremouth.com/mcp
No authentication is required
Start a new conversation and ask Claude to help you find travel insurance for your trip

Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop
Go to Settings > MCP Servers > Add Server
Enter the server URL: https://quote-mcp.squaremouth.com/mcp

The integration will appear in your available tools

Run the following command in your terminal:

No additional configuration is needed.

How to Use It

Getting a New Quote

Tell Claude about your trip and ask for help finding a travel insurance plan.

For example: “I’m traveling to Italy from June 15 to June 25. I’m 35 years old and live in New York. Can you help me find travel insurance?”

Claude will open an interactive form pre-filled with the details you provided. Review the form, make any necessary changes, and click View Quote Results to generate a quote.

You can also simply ask Claude to help you find travel insurance without providing any details. This will open a blank form for you to fill in.

Understanding Your Results

After submitting the form, you will be given a list of travel insurance plans, sorted by popularity. Each plan card will show the following information:

Provider name and logo
Overall customer rating and review count
Total price to insure all travelers
Key benefits and coverage highlights

For further sorting options, you may use the Sort by dropdown to reorder the results by price, rating, review count, or provider name.

Comparing Plans

Check the Compare box on two or more plans
Click the blue Compare button that appears at the top
A full-screen view will open with a side-by-side breakdown of the selected plans, showing you the differences in benefits and coverage amounts

This makes it easy to see exactly how the plans you’ve chosen to compare differ before you buy one.

Looking Up a Previous Quote

If you have a quote number from a previous session (e.g., 69C7-E13X), ask Claude to look it up: “Can you pull up my travel insurance quote? The number is 69C7-E13X.”

Claude will retrieve your previous quote and display the results so you can pick up where you left off.

Purchasing a Plan

When you’ve found a plan you like, click Buy Now on the plan details view. This will take you to Squaremouth’s website to complete your purchase. Squaremouth does not process payments directly through Claude.

Troubleshooting

“Something went wrong”

This is a general error that can occur if the travel insurance quoting service is temporarily unavailable. If this situation occurs, try the following:

Click Create a New Quote to start over
Re-submit your trip details
If the issue persists, please wait a few minutes and try again

“No plans are available for the provided trip details”

This means there are no travel insurance plans for your specific trip. In this case, try:

Adjusting your travel dates
Changing the destination country
Verifying that the deposit date is on or before the departure date
Checking that traveler ages are entered correctly

“Only seeing some of my results”

If your quote generated a large number of available policies, the results view may only show a subset of these plans (e.g., “Showing 12 of 45 results”). You can click View All Results to see the full list on squaremouth.com.

“The request timed out”

The quoting service did not respond in time. This is usually temporary. Please wait a moment and try submitting again.

“Unable to reach the quoting service”

Check your internet connection and try again. If your connection is working and the error persists, the service may be experiencing a brief outage.

“Quote not found”

The quote number you provided does not match any existing quote. Double-check the number and try again. Quote numbers follow the format XXXX-XXXX (e.g., 69C7-E13X).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use this?

No, you do not need an account. The Squaremouth integration will work without any login or account information. Once you connect to the server, you can generate and compare quotes immediately.

Is my information secure?

Yes. All communication is encrypted via HTTPS. The integration collects only the trip details needed to generate quotes (destination, travel dates, traveler ages, trip cost, and state of residence). It does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information. See Squaremouth’s privacy policy for more details.

How do I buy a plan?

Click Buy Now on the plan you’ve chosen. You’ll be taken to Squaremouth’s website to complete your purchase.

Can I save my quote for later?

Yes. Every quote is assigned a quote number (shown in the results view, e.g., 69C7-E13X). Save this number and ask Claude to look it up in a future conversation. You can also use this number on Squaremouth’s website or when talking to any of Squaremouth’s agents over the phone.

Why are results sorted by “Most Popular”?

By default, results are sorted by sales popularity on Squaremouth over the last 3 months. You can change the sort order at any time using the Sort by dropdown to view results by price, rating, review count, or provider name.

Can I edit my trip details after generating a quote?

Yes. Click Edit Information in the results view to return to the form, make changes, and generate a new quote.

Which insurance providers are included?

Squaremouth compares plans from 20+ top-rated travel insurance providers. The same providers and plans available on squaremouth.com are also available through Claude.
