Extremely helpful and always available. I wish other companies gave this kind of service.
Once i called about claim i got quick email with forms to fill out and send in.. Process took a few weeks to get back to me....which is fully expected about if my claim request was approved. I am waiting now for check for full amount of my claim request. I was told in email 2 weeks. I am going on another overseas trip in a few months and will purchase another plan again.

I have now reconceived statement from my MD confirming my illness which is reason for cancelling my travel plans.

Claim was easy enough to navigate. I was surprised I wasn't assigned a claim number, or if I was, it was not obvious. I had no idea of status of claim until I received my check. Then I knew it was approved.
I actually called while in Kenya because there was talk about violence related to the political situation and I was told it might be better to leave a day earlier than scheduled. I wanted to see if changing my ticket was possible under this policy and was told no. The policy would only cover me if I was hurt on my way to the airport during the violence. Also, the gentleman, who was nice enough, had such a heavy accent that I could hardly understand him. I was frustrated. I really can't judge this coverage but I was turned off by this lack of concern for my safety.

I accidentally wrote in Bermuda instead of Bahamas and they fixed it right away when I called. Great customer service! Will definitely use their services again (I travel a lot and never travel without insurance!)
My wife had to have emergency brain surgery and we had to cancel our cruise and flight. We called and filed a claim and provided all of the information that John Hancock Insurance had requested. We have received emails requesting additional information, which we had previously provided to them.We are still waiting for a response.
It was difficult getting an answer to my question of flying home to the US in case of illness. Jamaica is not a place where you want to stay if you need some care , especially hospital care and I wanted to be sure that I would be taken to the states . Their answer was not good enough so I would not use them again.
I am completely satisfied with John Hancock's handling of my claim. My husband and I had to see a doctor twice while we were in Europe for sudden severe cold and allergy symptoms which threatened to prevent us from flying home. We submitted a claim by mail and we were notified immediately on-line that our paperwork had been received. Within weeks we had received a check for the physician visits. The claim was handled courteously and promptly.
