  • Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

I am not happy with Seven Corners. We were unable to take our trip due to the early January ice storms that occurred in the Midwest. Our initial flight from our home airport was cancelled due to 1/2" of ice. A re-scheduled flight two days later was also cancelled due to the ice. At that point, since the cruise had sailed, we cancelled the trip and will reschedule later with the cruise line.

Our insurance with Seven Corners was for medical coverage only during the trip. I called and asked them if we could move the medical insurance coverage to the future re-scheduled trip. They refused to do so and just kept our premium even though we were unable to make the trip. I will not buy from Seven Corners again.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

I twisted my ankle while in Istanbul and called the Seven Corners international 24-hour customer service number on 1-16-2025.

Although the agent Jeanetta was extremely friendly and polite, she was actually not very helpful. She was not able to refer me to a doctor in Istanbul to see. That was particularly a concern for me in that I donʻt speak Turkish and would have wanted to see someone reputable with whom I would not experience communications challenges. All Jeanetta really could do was explain “how the system works.” And itʻs not very user-friendly.

I was also flabbergasted to learn that, if I sought medical care, I would need to pay for all the related costs upfront myself then seek reimbursement. I assume that would also have applied to the medical evacuation or repatriation of remains plan features. I think that information needs to be provided clearly upfront to people BEFORE they make a purchase. That is, how the provision of medical care process works.

I ended up not seeking medical care and bit the bullet, limping around for the duration of my trip. Iʻm still doing so today on 1-30-25 and will seek attention from my primary care physician if necessary after I return tfrom Chicago to my home base in Honolulu tomorrow.

My conclusion, is that Seven Corners Travel Insurance really does not provide much assistance if a customer needs their services. They are not very helpful and I will not be purchasing from them again. Like most insurance companies, Seven Corners is happy and anxious to take your money but makes you jump through hoops if you actuslly need their service. And the “service denied” response is always looming out there.

Had to cancel trip due to medical illness with wife. Cancelled as soon as notified by her doctor, got 25% refund from NCL, but due to written language on policy (had bought a preexisting insurance from Seven Corners), it was denied. We appealed, denied again. Have referred to to CA insurance commissioner to review. So far not resolved.

This was the simplest claim experience I've ever had. The company went beyond my expectations and gave us a full refund for our cruise. I found the prices very easy and we'll explained.

I fell day one of my trip and broke my leg badly. I was in Argentina for two weeks until I could get a fit to fly. I finally got home a little over a week ago. Trying to do the filing of the things for the claim as quickly as I can. I am still immobile and having a hard time getting things together. Trying to get the downloads of expenses and trip cost sent to you for repayment.

Seven Corners was VERY responsive and good on communication. I say the claim is complete as I received correspondence indicating a check was being sent. I have not been home and will not return until 22nd Feb, so I'm going on their promise of payment. The whole process as seemed to be seamless and quick.

I called in just to confirm my coverage in case of flight delays or cancellations and the options I would have it were to happen.
I received very clear information regarding this .

I started a claim to cover damaged (unusable) to my luggage, which was brand new. It became a tangled web of crossing emails that totally defeated my interest in continuing. Eventually the air carrier compensated me for the essentially lost luggage.

Filed a claim through their website. This was not easy because their website was very cumbersome. For example, when uploading documentation related to my claim, the drop down menu to categorize the document stopped working. After backing out of the site and going back in several times, I realized that the categorization was saving, it's just that the Seven Corners website stopped showing that the categorization had happened. I also had to tally up my expenses in each category as only one dollar amount per category was allowed. So even though there were multiple flights, I couldn't enter them separately. In the end, I did not receive reimbursement. Read the fine print very carefully before you spend money on travel insurance. Weather impacted our departing flight such that we would not have made it to our connecting flight for an international destination. We could not get another flight out for two days, but this situation fell into what I believe was a gap area such that cancel for any reason and trip interruption for any reason coverage (which cost more) did nothing for us in the end.

Spoke to an agent to file a claim, just have not had the time to accomplish the task as of yet.
