Can the Peru Travel Advisory be covered by travel insurance?

Last Updated:

As of December 22nd, 2022, the U.S Department of State updated their Peru Travel Advisory from Level Two to Level Three. While this advisory level urges travelers to “reconsider travel,” it is often not enough to impact insurance eligibility.

However, if the U.S Department of State increases their Travel Advisory to Level Four, certain travel insurance policies may offer coverage to policyholders. To stay up to date with the latest Travel Advisory changes, we recommend checking the U.S. Department of State’s website.

This information can vary based on the travel insurance policy. Please review the policy certificate to verify coverage. If you have questions about a specific policy, please contact us directly at 800-240-0369. Our customer service representatives are available from 8am to 10pm ET seven days a week and are delighted to help!
