What happens if I’m stranded in Greece?

Last Updated:

As soon as you realize you are stranded or have an emergency, we always recommend calling your emergency assistance provider. Their collect call phone number is located on your policy confirmation and agents are available to help 24 hours a day.

Depending on your policy and emergency situation, you may be covered by some of the following benefits:

Political Evacuation – This benefit is sometimes known as Non-Medical Evacuation and can provide transportation from a place of danger due to civil or political unrest to a place of safety. To be eligible for this benefit, the appropriate authorities must state you should leave the country or area you are traveling.

Emergency Cash Transfer – Many policies can assist you with transferring funds to a location where you can withdraw cash. Please be aware, this service may be affected by the withdrawal limits put in place by Greek banks.

In all cases, regardless of your policy coverage, please call your emergency assistance provider and they can provide advice to help you deal with your situation.
