Squaremouth: TBBJ’s “Cool Office Space” Where Cool Culture Meets Cool Design
ST. PETERSBURG, FL May 30, 2014 – Squaremouth, Americas fastest growing travel insurance comparison site, has been named one of Tampa Bay’s Coolest Office Spaces by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. This is the latest in a series of awards the company has been recognized for.
Every year, the Tampa Bay Business Journal identifies the twenty offices that are the “newest and coolest” in the area. This is Squaremouth’s second nomination since moving into their downtown St. Petersburg location three years ago.
The 3,381 square foot office boasts sweeping views of Tampa Bay from The Dali Museum to the historic Pier. Among its amenities are mobile workstations, a hangover couch and a Snooker table.
“We want to be the most incredible place for our customers to buy travel insurance. We can do that by creating the most incredible place our employees have ever worked,” says Squaremouth co-founder and CEO, Chris Harvey, who designed the space. “No part of the design is an accident,” adds Harvey, “Everything is in our office for a reason.”
There are no offices separating levels of management, but rather an open space that represents Squaremouth’s even employee structure. Glass walls symbolize the company’s transparency. From employee raises to what type of beer to fill the keg, every decision is a group effort. Everyone knows how much everyone makes, and everyone has access to the company’s financials.
This announcement of the 2014 Coolest Office Spaces comes weeks after Squaremouth was named a finalist in the American Business Awards for Customer Service Team of the Year in the Financial Services and Insurance industry, as well as a finalist in the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies.
