Can I cancel due to the earthquake if I have Cancel For Any Reason?

Last Updated:

Short Answer

If you had a policy in place that included Cancel For Any Reason before the earthquake occurred, you may be covered to cancel your trip due to the earthquake.

More Detail

Depending on your policy, you may be covered to cancel your trip due to the earthquake within the standard covered reasons for cancellation on your policy for a full reimbursement of your prepaid, nonrefundable trip cost. If you are not eligible for standard cancellation, you may be able to cancel your trip due to the earthquake using the Cancel For Any Reason benefit.

Cancel For Any Reason is an optional upgrade that allows you to cancel for a reason not otherwise covered by your policy for a reimbursement of up to 75% of your total trip cost. You must cancel your trip at least 2-3 days before your departure date.

This upgrade requires that you purchase the policy within 7-14 days of your initial trip deposit and insure 100% of your trip cost. Cancel For Any Reason can increase your policy premium by as much as 40-50%.
