Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I am unhappy with Tin Leg's claims management. I have been trying for six weeks to settle a baggage delay and medical expense claim. Last week, I received an email stating that they had no record of this claim. The next day, I received a request for a "property irregularity report" for that very claim. When I contacted Air Canada,(whose baggage personnel in Frankfurt were unable to transfer our bags to the proper plane despite a 3 hour and 20 minute layover) they insisted on some document number I had never heard of in order to process the report.
I feel as though I am being jerked around by a crew of incompetents. The chances of my ever using Tin Leg again are slim and none. Can you do anything to speed resolution of my claims? The dollar amounts are not large.
We chose Tin Leg because of customer review's and it's reasonable price. I did call customer service twice with legal name and travel date changes. Customer service was friendly, helpful, and quickly corrected my requests. The policy was sent quickly via e-mail. We are Seniors, and always carry travel insurance, but can't comment on the claims portion as we had none to turn in.
It's easy to get the insurance, the reviews are excellent so I chose it and the quoute is affordable, from now on I will always use Squaremouth Inc
I had a policy with Tin Leg for a cruises. I needed to add additional coverage since I booked and earlier back to back cruise. I emailed Square Mouth and never got a reply. Because we were leaving in two weeks, I purchased travel insurance from the cruise line for the earlier trip. Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim with either companies.
I phoned your claims department for a possible claim, but the office was closed, even though I called mid-week during your regular business hours. Not certain that I will use your travel insurance again, since I could not contact your office.
The ability to compare various policies was very important. The policy was competitive and included protection for all the exposures we perceived.
Filed claim. That was easy and straightforward. Haven't heard anything back on that clai,
4 stars rather than 5 only because it was a little hard to get the process going. Our son, who lives in Beijing, actually did major duty at getting things going and keeping up with Tin Leg so I could focus on my husband. Once we got connected with the right person at Tin Leg things went well and the company covered the medical costs we incurred as a result of my husband's accident and head injury. The Tin Leg contact person had to keep checking with someone else to get payments approved,(which delayed things slightly) but medical costs incurred were ultimately approved and that did relieve a lot of stress.
Tin Leg did a nice job of getting us back to the US with an escort for my husband. The company approved a travel itinerary which allowed my husband to recline the entire trip. The escort (a former para-medic) was very knowledgeable about travel with someone who was still not up to par. He really made the return trip possible. We would otherwise have been delayed in Beijing far longer..
Yes, we would recommend the policy to other travelers.
Since we did not file a claim, we have nothing to add and we plan to use Tin Leg in future for insurance.
I had an injury prior to my trip that required I cancel the trip entirely. Once I submitted all the forms and documents electronically, I received, in less than 3 weeks, written notification that my claim would be fully honored, and the refund check arrived in 25 days.
Vacation's are not cheap and cost continue to rise. Its good to know you are covered incase of an emergency or unexpected event.
