Hurricane Melissa formed in the Atlantic on October 21, 2025, and has developed into a major Category 5 hurricane. The storm is expected to hover around the Caribbean for several days, bringing severe weather and flooding to surrounding islands like Jamaica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.

Most comprehensive travel insurance plans include Hurricane & Weather coverage. These plans can reimburse you if your trip is canceled, interrupted, or significantly delayed by Melissa. In order for coverage to apply, you must have purchased your policy before the storm was named on October 21st. Any plans purchased on or after this date will not provide any coverage for disruptions caused by the storm.
