I couldn't find the insurance verification cards like we had had last year. I emailed Customer service over a week before we left. As it got nearer, I still had no answer so I called. I was told your company never has insurance verification cards. I still had mine from last year I could see you had them. I FINALLY got an email answering my question while we were gone on our cruise. It told me, yes, there were insurance verification cards and where to find them. A little late. Also frustrating to be given two different answers.

The process to increase the amount of insurance purchased is ridiculous. You must begin the planning of a ski trip in, roughly, July. It's impossible to know the total cost (for instance lift ticket prices aren't published until the fall). If you do not insure the trip within a given number of days of the initial charge, you lose some travel insurance benefits, and so you must estimate the trip cost - but if your estimate is higher than the total cost, that excess premium is lost forever. And so you insure an amount slightly less than what you expect to be the total, so as to not lose excess premium.

As the total becomes more clear in the fall, you set about to bring the total insured amount in line with what will be the total cost, as that amount becomes determinable. But that increase must be accomplished within 24 hours of the trip cost exceeding the insured amount or you lose benefits.

As the purchase of the travel insurance is so seamless, you would expect the purchase of the additional insurance to be similar? It is ridiculously complicated and slow. First contact customer service to tell them. Then wait days to hear back from some person that you can increase the amount. Then contact customer service again and tell them that I received the "Mother may I' response. Then wait a few more days for the purchase to actually occur and generate a credit card hit for the purchase of the additional insurance to actually occur. If you are not working about two weeks out, you will be jammed between the need to make a purchase for the trip, and the ridiculous delay in the ability to increase the insured amount, and the loss of travel insurance benefits. Fortunately I work about two weeks out.

Is this a scam? That I can make the initial purchase of the insurance in about 10 minutes but it takes closer to two weeks to increase the amount of the insurance? Is the plan to make me lose benefits?

Only the gods likely know the difficulty of adding a traveler... We had friends join us, as determined after the initial purchase. After experiencing the difficulty in increasing the insured amount, I had them obtain their own insurance. So you lost that business...

And you have most likely lost all future business with me. This year was a little more than 3 grand in premiums.

Customer service agent was not very helpful and was very curt answering my questions. My travel zone was not save to travel (P.R. right in the middle of the 6.0 hurricane) and he just didn’t seem to care or wanted to assist.

My flight was cancelled and I had to stay over an extra night with my family, then fly out to a nearby city because that was all that was available. We had to rent a car to get home. I have not yet filed a claim because the airline has not yet provided me with a written statement that the flight was cancelled. They say that this is a matter of public record and that the insurance company should look it up. I am attempting to get a written statement of the cancellation from the airline

My Claim was paid in full and took approximately 45 days as my claim was submitted over the thanksgiving christmas season ...so not too bad turn around time. Only real issue is their response time - could be improved as each time you send documents or ask a question response time can be up to 16 days. I had my claim information scanned with all documentation including additional medical documentation, credit card charges, non refundable trip costs with evidence of my notice of cancellation to providers with 48 hours of medical advise not to travel (as REQUIRED in policy) along with each providers' non-refundable policy as verification of claim loss. My claim was approximately $11,000 and was paid in full by itravelinsured within a reasonable time period with little follow-up needed. Only question they had, which delayed my processing by 16 days was for me to email back to them the electronic bank transfer paperwork for payment- it's the last page attachment of their claim form. I did not initially submit their electronic bank transfer form with my initial claim as I preferred paper check and was assured by itravelinsured customer service over the phone, aabsent the form, if claim approved reimbursement would be automatically issued in form of a check and my payment method would be noted. 16 days later I received a email from claims department to send electronic payment form which I did as all replies form them can take up to 16 additional days. Great company would recommend, just be sure to adhere to the trip cancellation qualification policy requirements and have all your ducks in a row BEFORE you send completed claim form with all support documentation (including electronic bank transfer form) and things should go pretty smoothly. Would use again.

AA didn’t take into consideration the stress I went through with the accident. The day after it occurred, I was regurgitating and was getting very weak. The doctor was called and he gave me a shot at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon. I lost a full day in Buenos Aires being sick. I was so weak I had to spend the rest of the day in bed. AA decided that a $200 credit for their airline was sufficient. I never want to fly American Airlines again and so that credit is worthless.

Thank you for your assistance. It was seamless ... and a great relief as I thought I may have to cut my holiday short.
