IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. I have one small medical bill to submit. The iTravellinsured claim forms says I must first submit to my other medical insurance company and then send the denial with my claim to iTravellinsured. I was surprised because Squaremouth website said the iTravellinsured coverage was "primary." I am awaiting a reply from my Medicare Supplement Insurance before making a claim with iTravellinsured.

The claims department said they were behind and it took several weeks to get the claim reviewed for payment. I got an email that since the claim was over $10,000 it needed to be reviewed by underwriting when the claim was for less than $200. The claim forms were long and difficult to complete and the space provided was sometimes too small for the information. After I sent the claim I was later asked to submit an additional form for electronic payment of the claim when this could have been done on the original claim form. Everything I needed to submit had to be done by paper and sent by US mail. I am a retired insurance claims manager and the experience did not meet my expectations.
After missing our luggage for several days I contacted the company to see what how long the luggage delay had to be to be able people to file a claim.
The customer service department representative emailed me the correct form as requested on the phone, though most of it was not applicable. Surprisingly she said that my policy didn’t cover what it clearly states that it does:100% cancellation for non refundable prepaid trip expenses if cancelling for work reasons (said it was 50%). I would not have purchased this policy if it didn’t cover that at 100%. She said the claims dept would deal with this. I DON’T like inconsistency like that.

We had to cancel our trip due to my husband's illness. I had bought airline tickets but didn't get any refund.
It was a very convoluted process; the customer service reps did not know their claim process and I was told several different ways to proceed; and it took 33 calls and 5 months to get the claim settled satisfactory. I will never use iTravelInsured ever again.

The request to "rate your experience with iTravelInsured during your trip" does not technically apply because we canceled the trip due to medical reasons. But our interactions with iTravelInsured are not deserving of a high 5 star or 4 star rating. The customer service of iTravelInsured is less than average. For instance, iTravelInsured asked us to submit an email with instructions where to mail a reimbursement check if we are given a settlement, which we did. Then iTravelInsured sent an email stating that if our claim is covered iTravelInsured would issue settlement funds directly to our bank account ( not by check) and required us to complete and submit a three-page "Wire Transfer" form. It seems that one of these directions was unnecessary, either the email with directions where to send a check, or the Wire Transfer form with directions where to transfer funds directly to our bank account.
