IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.

The purchase was smooth and easy, and fortunately, I did not need to file a claim. It certainly gave me peace of mind traveling, especially while taking an excursion on my cruise.
No claims. Easy to buy policy. Got what I wanted at a price that I thought was reasonable.
I would strongly recommend you not purchase travel insurance from IMG. You really can't rate a company until you have a claim. I have purchased many travel policies and in fact have about 3 upcoming policies with IMG. I have only filed a claim once about 3 yrs ago and it was seemless. It was with John Hancock. IMG is horrible. I would rate them 0 if I could. I sent them a letter from the carrier explaining why they didn't take my bags (overloaded plane), a letter saying they would deliver 2 days later than my arrival, receipts that I got purchasing purchasing a modest amount of items to tide me over until my bags came, etc. It appears they will do whatever they can to avoid their responsibility. I regret that I currently have 3 more of their policies outstanding over the next 3 months. I just pray I don't have a medical emergency.
Our claim was a very small claim based on two late flights which resulted in missed connections in each direction with the same airline. In each case they re-scheduled us to a following day flight. As a result, we lost the first night's stay at our vacation destination as well as the the first day of value of our 7-day car rental. There was a small amount of incidental meals while stuck at airport/airport hotels.
The requested burdens of proof required in the claim process seemed burdensome for such a small claim. I provided adequate data to IMG to clearly show that the delays occurred resulting in the two trip interruptions. However, I did not obtain a statement from the airline itself. I will find out whether they deny this small ($146.03) claim because I did not provide proof of delays in this exact way.
I had a truly horrible time with Spirit Airlines customer service throughout the delay and re-schedule process in both directions. I do not care to speak with them any time soon, certainly not to beg for a statement to support a small claim for which I can provide full proof by other means.
If IMG honors the claim, I will be pleased and will likely choose them for future needs. If not, they will never get our business again.
I would give this process 0 stars-- there is no phone contact at all. I kept explaining and providing information requested but the same information kept on being requested. I would never recommend your company
I can’t believe how long it is taking IMG to address my claim. I sent documentation by mail on Oct. 24. When I sent an inquiry on Nov. 10th regarding my status I got a reply last Wednesday that my claim is awaiting assignment. It is a minor claim of less than $300. We travel a lot (at least 2 major trips per year) but I will not purchase from IMG again.

They may have settled with me but they made it VERY difficult to file. First off, they did not even have my policy listed as a current contract with them. They had a policy from about 18-20 months prior. So I could not even make a claim through the on line process. When I called they sent me a link but there was not sufficient space to put some of my claim information. I was finally able to print it off and sent it. I was concerned they would say it had not arrived in a timely manner so I even paid extra to have it delivered by register mail-at an additional cost to me. All this hassle for a claim that was less than $300.00
I will NEVER purchase travel insurance with IMG again. I had a previous claim a couple of years prior with another travel insurance company and the claim was resolved with check in hand in less than a week-and for substantially more money. My husband and I each had a claim which Tin Leg responded and paid out in less than a week. This is probably unusual but IMG is at the other end of customer “no satisfaction” list.
Well since I did not have a claim this is hard to rate, but the cost seemed reasonable
We filed an appeal and were denied. Due to really bad weather, we did not go to Greenland and spent 7 days on the ship going up and down the Bay of Fundy, looking for a port to take us.
The claim was denied due to the fact that we did get to Canada. We all wanted to go to Greenland.
The plan states under "trip Interruption", that if you can't complete your trip, you are covered.
Under "other covered events", No. 10. we did have a delay for over 6 hrs. Not really a delay, but a total cancellation.Section No. 12, states it's covered if we were under hurricane watch. The seas were really rough and people were getting sick.
The policy does not specify that the entire trip has to be cancelled.
Had to adjust Return Date on policy; Called IMG and they quickly changed date on policy and did not charge extra. Great!
