IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
The insurance company IMG needs it itemize the information that the claimant needs at the very beginning of the process. The document from the airline stating the reason for the delayed/cancelled flight is difficult, if not impossible to get! The insurance company needs to be more available by phone - emails go unanswered forever! Why should the customer pay about 8% of the total trip cost, then have such a difficult time getting back a small portion of the premium cost?
Claim was paid quickly. Trying to get the correct paperwork was the only headache.
Tried repeatedly to file a claim using the IMG website but was met with error after error when answering the prompt's correctly.
Tried using the phone but who has that kind of time? really!
My husband lost his passport and we were receiving no attention from the Embassy. As days dragged on, it became apparent that this was going to be a costly incident. We were assured by IMG that our costs would be considered for coverage - one hugh relief. I had hoped that as the insurer that you might have had a channel into the Embassy to assist us but that was not the case.
I wISH there were no stars. IMG was the worst insurance experience. I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in June 2023. I needed to cancel my trip which fortunately I had only paid the deposit. I had chemotherapy scheduled going into the time of the trip, which was September 9, 2023. I als had surgery scheduled. Had forms signed by all my doctors. Still not enough.
Then on July 14th, my traveling companion, Robert Smith, fell and broke his femur. When they were stalling on my claim, I then made a new claim regarding his injury and also a reason we could not make the trip. I finally received partial compensation, the amount of $2,766.00. Short: $247.00.
So the premium was 674.34 +247.00. So it cost us: $921.34 to cancel.
So we did finally get some compensation, but they certainly gave us a terrible time, especially since I was dealing with the side effects of breast cancer chemo and my partner was in intensive care from complications with his broken femur.
I will definitely NEVER use that insurance company again.
P.S. I THINK THEY FINALLY PAID US BECAUSE I THREATENED THEM WITH A CONGRESSIONAL INQUIRY INTO THEIR BUSINESS WHICH I HAD THE CAPABILITY TO DO AND WAS PREPARED TO DO.

I have a valid claim due to injury.
The venue I had book is providing a non-cash voucher that could be used only with them for up to one year. Due to my injury, it is unlikely I will be able to use it. IMG is not covering that potion.
Instructions from customer service were clear and effective. Within a few days of submitting documents required, IMG came back and confirmed claim was valid and that they would pay within the usual period. I did not have to follow-up. My experience was excellent, beyond my expectations. I definitely would recommend Squaremouth and IMG to friends and family.
I canceled for medical reasons, and even thought policy was supposed to allow cancelation without reason, IMG has still not provided a refund.
