IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
IMG promptly provided the insurance documents and guidelines per requests.
So far the experience of filing a claim hasn’t been the easiest. I was not able to speak to agent just told to go online to file a claim. Hope to hear back from someone this week with an update.
I am waiting for a response to the part of the claim which I have made.
I am waiting to receive more payment receipts in order to complete my claim.
When filing a claim IMG should provide a list of all documents to be submitted before one starts to electronically file a claim; also, the electronic filing should allow for the document to be saved , if not complete, for later submission.
Very satisfied with IMG’s promot response.
Making modifications to the policy on the weekend was essentially impossible.
I was surprised that when we modified our policy to REDUCE the length of our travels by 2 days there was no change in premiums. That makes no sense to me.
I know your premiums are generally competitive but at 10% of cost, that seems high.
I spoke with Squaremouth Customer Service a number of times, one of which included a supervisor, who was extraordinarily helpful. It seemed, for a while, that the trip would be cancelled, but it ultimately came off without a hitch. The most important thing I learned is that most carriers will NOT consider United future flight credits (or their equivalent on other airlines) to be travel "payments." IMG and Berkshire Hathaway will reimburse these costs, which limited my choice to those 2 companies. I have used Berkshire in the past, (who quickly paid a claim) but they were not competitively priced for this trip. Payment of airline travel credits should be included in your policy evaluations.
Travel Insurance basically strikes me as a crooked business, where the companies try to give you the illusion of great travel coverage, which evaporates with all the "weasel wording" deep in the text. While perhaps necessary for some trips, I would not buy any travel insurance policy without using a comparison/evaluation source like Squaremouth. It gives the traveler a fighting chance against the attorneys and risk analysts who write the policies designed to avoid payment when possible. The average person otherwise has no ability to make rational comparisons between companies and policies.
Very easy to purchase. Also easy to get answers to questions. I would purchase again, and recommend to other travelers.
I had to make a claim for a hospital visit (food poisoning on my last day of the trip). I was directed to a very clear online form. IMG handled the process and covered the hospital fee. I received update emails as my claim was processed. Very good process.
My main complaint is how long and complex the policies are, and the crazy exclusions, such as eyeglasses. How are you supposed to complete your trip if you can't see? This is/should be a medical necessity.
After purchasing the policy, I noticed I entered the dates of travel off by 1 day. I called to have rhe policy updated. Customer support was extremely helpful and quick to correct the policy as well as I dorm me when I could expect to receive the updated documents. It was a smooth transaction all around.
