IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Easy to understand and good communications
It was fantastic! I have no complaints.
Prior to taking the trip I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma. I had to cancel the trip. However, the rental agency indicated that I would receive at least a partial refund. I contacted IMG who advised me to wait on filing the claim that I had 30 days. The rental agency, then told me they were going to refund my money, but have yet to do it, I contacted IMG again to see if I should file the claim or would they be willing to extend the deadline on waiting? IMG has been very difficult to work with my answers are unclear and vague and I’m worried that if the agency does not refund my money as promised it will also be too late to file a claim.

Great customer service. No claim.
I am in the process of filing a claim now and it is not going smoothly. The claims adjusters have sent a form letter asking for additional documentation as if they never bothered to even review the documentation I had already sent. You cannot communicate with them via email.
IMG has been very difficult to work with. The process to file a claim is difficult, long and hard to comply with. The wedsite at IMG will not save your work which has made it necessary to start the filing multiple times. I will never do business with IMG again. It should not be so difficult to file a claim for a simple flight delay due to weather.

Claim process was burdensome and difficult to do on line. Website was NOT user friendly. Online claim info could not be saved to complete the claim at a later time. Claim required information that was difficult or impossible for me to obtain. Phone support was less than helpful and I do not believe I could have made a claim without the help of SquareMouth and their Zero Complaint team.
Claim experience has been difficult and frustrating so far.

The insurance carrier's website for claims submission is poorly designed. You are not able to review or page back without losing your work/progress so you have to start all over. To check on the progress of your claim, you need a claim number which isn't the number you are emailed with your claim and reference number. The claim forms I was asked to submit are not germane to the situation of the claim. You also can't speak with the person handling your claim nor their supervisor (you make an appointment for a returned call which never happened). Ultimately the claim was paid, but not without unnecessary angst.
I did not need to file a claim so my comments are limited to just purchasing the insurance I needed. Squaremouth's website is easy to navigate and customer service was prompt in answering the questions I had. I like that they had several insurance policies to choose from and a comparison tool. It was also reassuring to know that should a problem arise between you and the insurance company, Squaremouth stands behind their products and may be able to help solve the problem.
Helpful on phone pre trip and when we faced delay, hope for same when i file claim
During the trip, my wife (Lorelee) developed a severe case of Vestibular disorientation (Vertigo). She needed medical assistance. We were concerned that we might not be able to continue with the trip. We called IMG to try to get a referral to medical assistance. The first person we talked mainly gave us a legal grilling about how the claim process worked and the forms we would need to fill out. Then we lost the connection. We called back, and the 2nd person had a somewhat more calming approach, but the only referral advice was to contact the hotel concierge service about medical services. Fortunately, we were able to get assistance and we went to a nearby hospital's emergency room. But totally without any assistance from IMG. Right on their Emergency Assistance Travel Card they state:
"Medical Referral: If urgent medical advice or care
is needed, we are prepared to refer you to the nearest
appropriate care facility or provide a listing of available
medical care to you. We can assist with obtaining an
appointment with the medical care provider you have
chosen."

Customer support from IMG during the incident that resulted in the claim was not stellar. Though the claim to give on site guidance as to where and how to obtain medical assistance, when I called (and the call was answered promptly), they seemed more concerned about the legalities of the situation, not really interested in guidance as to where to assist aid. We did find aid at a local hospital (with some help from our hotel concierge) and the issue was deal with. There was some concern initially that event might cancel the remainder of our cruise, but it resolved itself overnight and we proceded with the journey.
After returning home, I went online to IMG claim site and filed a claim for 395 Euro - the amount of our hospital ER visit and a medicine that was prescribed. The online process was very straight forward. I submitted copies of the bills and and a narrative of the reason for the visit. Within a week, IMG send me an electronic check for 395 Euros (converted to USD). From both our perspectives, the case was now closed.
