I have bought travel insurance for many, many years and have never made a claim. After a recent trip, I made a small medical claim. I had several questions regarding the paperwork and was pleasantly surprised when my call was answered within minutes. The claims rep had the answers and the follow-through was spot-on. Ongoing communication regarding the claim status was excellent and the check arrived as promised.
I realize that travel insurance is expensive and may never be needed, but I feel confident that IMG will handle any future claim quickly, competently and fairly. I will highly recommend this travel insurance to others.

I just filed a claim yesterday and am waiting for their response. They said it could take several weeks to complete.
The process to buy travel insurance was very simple and self explanatory.
Our trip had to be cancelled due to my husband developing a severe infection requiring hospitalization and several weeks to recover enough to be able to travel.
It took four months from the date of our claim to settlement. In between we were asked to provide additional evidence, which we did.
We are pleased that our trip expenses were fully refunded.

Zero stars. The single worst travel insurance company I have ever dealt with. It should be an embarrassment to Squaremouth that you list them on your website. Do Not Use This Company.
YOU WILL NEVER GET PERSONAL, LIVE PERSON ASSISTANCE WITH A CLAIM. PERIOD. The phone number listed for this company connects to a secretary who knows nothing about claims nor will the person do anything to assist you. You are simply instructed to contact their email address.
Their average time to contact you via email ranges from 2-4 weeks….per message/inquiry. I have a valid claim for travel loss and they have stretched it out going on 4 months.
You are instructed to file your claim online and submit documents on their website. However, once you do that, you cannot see any of your claim information. It’s inaccessible to you. If you click on the claim number you were assigned, it will take you to a message saying they don’t have the technology yet to enable you to see any claim info. This will allow them to delay your claim saying they did not receive necessary documents when, in fact, you did send them. They were either “lost”, or---since you can’t access and see online what you sent to them---at least they can claim they were lost. I had to send in information 3 times! 4 weeks after submitting my initial claim they sent email saying they were “working on my claim for “x” dollars, where “x” was the wrong number. I immediately tried contacting them via phone but was again simply referred to sending yet another email. I requested by phone and by email to get a copy of my claim…the information I had submitted to date…and they would not. They simply said send information in again. Their method of business is to delay claim payment as long as possible.
Were it not due to pressure applied by Squaremouth.com, they would have never addressed my valid claims at all. Do you want to chance going through months of duress dealing with a potential claim?
IMHO, when looking at reviews for this company, one should only look at those where someone made a claim. Reviews from people who took out this insurance and did not need to use it, are, in my opinion, not worth much. What can you say…they took my money easily and quickly? I have looked at reviews re this company on multiple websites and the issues I have delineated are very common complaints. DO NOT USE THEM.
We called, to ask for help with finding a doctor or urgent care, to look at a cyst on my husband’s back, that was acting up. What we got was simply a list of providers nearby. After talking with our tour guide, we ended up deciding not to go, since he described the closest location as a state hospital “where people go to die”. Since we were in South Africa, we’d hoped there would be better screening of providers in IMG’s referral process.
My experience with IMG was very satisfactory from signing up to calling and getting my questions answered. I would go with this company again without a doubt and highly recommend them! Wynde Klauer
