Pickpocketed during the trip. Requested assistance to find ATM to withdraw cash and reviewed potential coverage after the trip with representative. Both interactions were cordial, professional and effective.
My claim process was fast and efficient. I submitted all the paperwork I had and the claim was processed quickly.
I selected Medical Emergency when I called customer service as my husband was ill. The rep had difficulty finding a dr for us since she did not speak German. I don't think she had the appropriate tools to research on our behalf so she just told us to dlfind a dr on our own and submit a claim for reimbursement. She also had a baby crying and dog barking which made it difficult for both of us. I was surprised to have to wait 10 minutes to get a rep that turned out not very helpful.
We always use IMG so we don't make mistakes. Buying travel insurance can be tricky and IMG has more than once stopped us from buying a wrong policy.
I needed to revise the effective date of the policy and it was a slight hassle. But ultimately taken care of

Mother-in-Law required surgery on our scheduled date of departure (October 24) and we therefore cancelled our trip to Spain and Portugal.
We were unable to cancel our first hotel reservation secondary to short notice. We lost the $382 deposit. We otherwise were able to cancel other hotel and car reservations. Airline tickets have been credited.
We need to file a claim.

It was a very easy process and reasonably priced.
Initially had a problem with accessing policy. Was due to an error in the name. IMG customer service quickly corrected the problem and I was able to access the policy documents. Coverage was just what I needed since I really needed coverage primarily for prepaid expenses as I have a yearly travel insurance product to cover medical.
I HAVE PURCHASED TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICIES FOR YEARS FROM IMG (EITHER DIRECTLY OR THROUGH SQUAREMOUTH). THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I NEEDED ASSISTANCE (I WAS STRUCK WITH COVID) IN ANOTHER COUNTRY (ARGENTINA) AND IMG'S EMERGENCY CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS BEYOND HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I WILL **NEVER** USE THEM AGAIN! THEY WERE COMPLETELY UNWILLING AND/OR UNABLE TO ASSIST ME IN FINDING MEDICAL ATTENTION. IT SEEMED AS THOUGH IMG'S "CONCIERGE SERVICE" PERSON HAD NEARLY ZERO EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH CLIENTS WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER A SEVERE MEDICAL ISSUE. I THINK MY CONCIERGE AGENT ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT ARGENTINA WAS ONE OF THE UNITED STAES OF AMERICA! IN THE END, I HAD TO FEND FOR MYSELF AND COORDINATE ALL OF MY MEDICAL CARE, WHEN I WAS TERRIBLY ILL FROM NUMEROUS COVID SYMPTOMS! WHAT A WASTE OF MY HARD-EARNED MONEY! NEVER AGAIN!
