Berkshire Hathaway customers find customer service agents helpful and easy to reach. While the provider has an efficient claims process, some customers report frustration with the communication and clarity while waiting for reimbursement.
I was not aware I could communicate with someone.
The message I fid receive was to allow BHG time to go over what was submitted. It's only Bern a few days so I'm still waiting to hear from them.
It's been weeks, MONTHS actually, since I started my delayed bag claim with BHS. I have provided them with everything they asked for immediately... this is a $200 claim on my small policy. They have NOT been up to date or active. I am constantly chasing them down.
I will also be filing some simple medical claims which happened on this trip, and I am NOT confident they will be forthcoming and handle this appropriately. It has NOT been a good experience.
great experience - as always. selection tool is awesome - with clear explanations of the features. provider choice is great. purchase experience and interactions with the customer service staff are always pleasant.
i've purchased trip-specific insurance thro them 10+ times - and expect to keep doing it for all my future trips.
Greetings!
Unfortunately, I filed a Claim with Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection and as of this MOMENT-----I have not HEARD A SINGLE WORD BACK FROM THEM!
The O-N-L-Y reason I used Berkshire Hathaway was because of the high rating in Consumer Reports and your Company Policy to act on consumer behalf (please I hope this is true),,,
I read the classic book: The Invisible Bankers: Everything The Insurance Industry Didn't Want you to Know by Andrew Tobias.
Repeating, I hope you pledge to act on the consumer behalf is beyond a mere advertising slogan!

The policy coverage was fairly clearly stated and easy to understand, and it was easy to reach people by phone or email. Claim response has been a little slow.
The customer service was excellent.
So far I am not satisfied with Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. While my particular travel issue appears to be covered (remains to be seen what challenges I face during the claims process, which is just starting), the lady who took my call told me it will be a month (20 business days) before an examiner is even assigned to my claim. This delay is egregious and will definitely impact my thinking on which travel insurance company to select in the future when planning a trip. Luckily my claim is only modest and I'm not in desperate need of the unplanned expenditures from a covered travel event--if I was more dependent on this reimbursement, a month's delay before my claim is even reviewed would not be acceptable to me.
We had a trip interruption because of my child's passport loss. I called the customer service, and the claim was established right away. I appreciate the assistance. I have uploaded all the documents related to the claim and am awaiting the review and response. Thank you.
Haven't heard from them in 3 weeks since providing details about my claim.
Very slow to resolve claim
