Berkshire Hathaway customers find customer service agents helpful and easy to reach. While the provider has an efficient claims process, some customers report frustration with the communication and clarity while waiting for reimbursement.
There was a glitch in making payment and securing the policy but customer service was excellent to get it resolved.
I purchased the insurance then realized I had charged it to the wrong credit card. So I called customer server 10 minutes after the purchase. They were able to cancel the purchase so I could purchase it on a different card. The rep. was very helpful.
I wasted my time and money buying this insurance that didn't cover for anything.
Really easy to get the quote info and to book. Had a few pre-travel issues with some people dropping off, changing dates, etc... Both times that I had to call, customer service was extremely easy to work with and solved the issues quickly for me. I was very pleased with the level of service.
They have not acknowledged my claim in any way or responded to my email with questions. I fully expect them to refuse my claim. If this is what I can expect from travel insurance, why bother getting it? Waste of my money completely.
Just called Customer Service - spoke English well. Yay! Have submitted claim to KLM for mechanical and weather delays that resulted in an extra night’s stay. Wanted to know how long I had to submit to Berkshire Hathaway if KLM denies any expenses.
flight was delayed due to weather and miss our flight and connecting flight. We incurred expenses staying in seattle over night and our lodging in hawaii. Airline is saying its because they couldn't get the equipment to the airport. We've sent several documents showing it was weather including the airlines own website. Berkshire is claiming it wasn't.
No resolution as of yet and it's been months. I'd appreciate some assistance.
There is a very important omission, which I have not encountered with any other travel insurance companies I used in the past - the Berkshire Hathaway form did NOT have a designated beneficiary. I had to call the company, and the representative manually filled in the name and e-mailed me the form. This was enough for me to NOT consider them in the future and not recommending them.
Entire process was quick and easy.
Compare to other carriers much to be desired. Longer resolution, still waiting. Terrible claim process. Tedious and unfriendly
