Reasonable processing time (about 5 weeks).
Our trip was cancelled but since we had the 15 day trial included as part of the purchase and were in that time period, we were able to get our money returned without any hassles at all. That was a huge relief and very much appreciated!!
So my flight, on a Sat morning, kept repeatedly being delayed due to technical difficulties. Tried contacting customer service—24 hour—and it said no one was available until Mon morning during reg business hours. Useless! Glad I paid for what I did. In the end, the flight left, just several hours later than scheduled. So, if I needed this insurance on the day and time, it was not available. Pointless. 0 stars for this company.
If I could give Berkshire zero stars I would’ve. Called customer service and they were beyond insulting.

Positive experience so far. I've never submitted a claim before, and had a terrible experience dealing with Allianz on this same matter. Rhonda (claims department) was extremely friendly and very helpful in setting up my claim, making what has already been a stressful travel and insurance situation much calmer. Much appreciated. Claim estimated to take 5-6 weeks due to backlog so unable to comment on satisfaction with policy coverage or completion of claims process at this time.
I needed to extend my trip for family health issues and made an inquiry about extending my coverage for another week. Although I had no expectation that I could or could not extend the coverage, customer service said they would check with the underwriting department and get back to me within one business day.
I did not receive any response from Berkshire Hathaway via my requested email.
My experience thus far has been tremendously positive. We had a very unique injury occur in our trip, so hoping the claims department will understand it and approve the claim.
