Crystal Cruise line filed for bankruptcy prior to departure date. Filed claim and was advised to refile after the bankruptcy was finalized and I have resolution notification from the bankruptcy court.

So far so good ,only just returned. Made initial contact for claim form.
I'm on the phone with them right now , transferred 3X to different people trying to get in touch with Berkshire Hathaway Travel protection claim department and I've been on hold for hours. No one had talked to me yet. I just want to know how to go about claims because I got hospitalized in the Philippines due to amebiasis. I brought with me all the hospitalization records and receipts. I just came back a week ago here in NJ . They were so fast when I applied , exact opposite now that I'm trying to file a claim. Please help me
Although my claim was filled successfully, the policy was completely misleading since I intended to purchase a 3 month policy and it only lasted 2 weeks.
If anything were to happen outside of those 2 weeks I would've been completely on my own and also blindsided by the fact that my policy had ended early.
Happy we didn’t need to use the coverage.
Overall the process was easy but the filters did not seem to be as effective as I hoped. Not bad but it took a couple of tries to get exactly what I wanted. The policy comparison feature was very good it actuall showed a couple of details that were not obvious in the policy write-up.
I was a bit surprised but very happy with Berkshire reaching out with an email several days before the trip to make sure I had the best contact information. I did have one question and called them and it was resolved very nicely by a very pleasant representative.
We have a cruise next year and I will look at the BH policy for sure.
Best of all the cruise went perfectly and we needed no claims!
great service and affordable.
I can't give rate for something I did not do:
I had no pre-departure or during the trip experience with BHTP .
I had a cruise scheduled to India with Avalon Waterways which they cancelled for "operational reasons." They gave me two other dates which did not work for me, so Avalon Waterways gave me a 100% refund of our cruise price. I had purchased round trip airfare on Qatar Airways for over $11,000. I did this through a third-party called "Business-Class.com." Since our cruise was cancelled, and I didn't need the airfare, I sought a refund for the airfare. I was told it was 100% non-refundable. They would attempt to give me some credits in the future as the cancelled trip dates got closer. I would have to create a new trip in a short time frame out of thin air, and even then pay more than what I already paid. I filed a claim with Berkshire Hathaway with all the proof that my trip was cancelled and my airfare was non-refundable. My claim was rejected because of wording in the insurance contract that there is no coverage if ANY part of a trip is cancelled by a provider.
By mere virtue of the fact that Avalon Waterways cancelled the cruise portion of my trip, my ENTIRE travel insurance policy was effectively voided. I paid about $2,500 for this travel policy, and it was worthless. I think this is a total ripoff. I understand if I am getting refunded, there is no claim, but I am out over $11,000 because I bought the plane fare on my own. I think travel insurance is a total ripoff, and I will never buy it again. I did schedule another trip on short notice, and still paid thousands more, and did not get the flights I wanted on the days I wanted. I was happy to get something out of it, but the travel industry is just rife with scams and ripoffs, and travel insurance is a big part of it.
