We have the claims forms on hand and need to gather the information needed.
So far, no problems.
However, the claims forms seem to be difficult and somewhat confusing.
Our daughter who deals with claims forms for insurance companies will help us sort through all the information this coming week-end.
The folks with whom we have talked by phone have been very, very helpful so I believe everything will work out okay.

My wife and I travel a couple of times a year. We use Squaremouth to purchase our travel insurance.
My initial purchase of the insurance policy for a pending trip was easy and efficient. My “tour operator” changed the dates of my trip 30 days prior to departure. I contacted BHTP to change the dates of the coverage. This was also done easily and efficiently. My “tour operator” had said (via e-mail) he would pay for the cost of my flight changes. Unfortunately he has failed to pay for the changes and I have filed a claim to recover the loss.
The on-line process to file the claim was straight forward and a positive experience. The email communication regarding receipt of my paperwork for the claim was appreciated.
My experience with BHTP has been good. We would refer friends to Squaremouth for their travel insurance needs.

My flight was delayed to the point where I missed my connection and didn’t make it to my destination in time for the hotel that I booked. I called the service number to call during travel and got voicemail saying the office was closed!

Claim is still ongoing, submitted paperwork, was told it was not sufficient. Am told I need to submit a medical form, but my husband's doctor charges for those to be filled out, and I can't afford to pay the fee...so I'm out my travel expenses even though I submitted a form from his doctor saying he was not cleared to travel on the date of the trip. Very poor business practices, I won't use this company again.
We had to contact the 24 hour assistance to help direct us on how to proceed after my sister sprained her ankle. Called the number provided via email, and was told they no longer take care of this policy and to call another number. In a foreign country, a bit panic after the accident, need to go to hospital asap and was informed to call another number was a bit stressful. We decided we needed to go to the ER asap rather than call another number and waste more time to get medical assistance.

Problems---as I travel alot------and the coverage is for US citizens
1. trip must begin in the USA and often I am ENDING 1 trip before beginning a 2nd ----with the return leg out of the USA!
2. coverage should allow for trip beginning and ending anywhere-----if US citizenship is required and home residence is in the US!

I severely sprained my ankle on a cruise to Mexico recently and had to visit the cruise clinic. The insurance covered my xrays, visit cost crutches and an aircast. Quick reply and quick reimbursement. Whole process took less than 10 days from the time i filed.
