Prior to our trip my wife had a stroke. We were able to cancel our reservations without using the insurance. BERKSHIRE refunded the cost of our policy. We will surely use them again.

While I'm glad I purchased this policy, it is yet to be determined whether or not it has any value.
It was hard to find my actual policy number to file a claim.
While the customer service line answered in the middle of the night, which was great, they offered little if any assistance.
I'm still waiting to hear back about my claim after one week.

We spent a lot of money on this trip, and I was happy to have protection for if anything went awry. I added car insurance at a later date on two different cars, and it was really easy to add after the original policy was in place, and it was less expensive than the car rental agency's insurance (by far!) Customer service was great! They clearly stated the coverages and costs. I'm sure if I would have needed to make a claim, it would have been a seamless experience.

I submitted a claim for a minor covered incident. The claim was approved relatively quickly. I will continue to use Squaremouth for comparing and purchasing policies and would opt for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection for future travel.

We purchased a policy that we thought allowed flexibility in the return date. We learned later that the policy was void because we did not provide proof of return tickets. My husband was injured and we returned in November. We believe full disclosure was not provided. We would like to ask that the premium be refunded.
We have the claims forms on hand and need to gather the information needed.
So far, no problems.
However, the claims forms seem to be difficult and somewhat confusing.
Our daughter who deals with claims forms for insurance companies will help us sort through all the information this coming week-end.
The folks with whom we have talked by phone have been very, very helpful so I believe everything will work out okay.

My wife and I travel a couple of times a year. We use Squaremouth to purchase our travel insurance.
My initial purchase of the insurance policy for a pending trip was easy and efficient. My “tour operator” changed the dates of my trip 30 days prior to departure. I contacted BHTP to change the dates of the coverage. This was also done easily and efficiently. My “tour operator” had said (via e-mail) he would pay for the cost of my flight changes. Unfortunately he has failed to pay for the changes and I have filed a claim to recover the loss.
The on-line process to file the claim was straight forward and a positive experience. The email communication regarding receipt of my paperwork for the claim was appreciated.
My experience with BHTP has been good. We would refer friends to Squaremouth for their travel insurance needs.
