A waste of my money to buy your travel insurance. My wife became ill with the flu and we had to cancel our entire trip. Because my wife didn't see a doctor and wasn't able to produce a report from the doctor with regards to her illness, I am being denied payment to settle my claim. A total loss of money, including your fee for the useless insurance you sold to me.

It has been 16 days and when I followed up, they are behind on claims, I should wait. I will never use this company again

Process to enter claim was straightforward. Processing took a little longer than hoped. Claim was only partially approved, which was somewhat disappointing.
From past experience with BH travel insurance, I was frustrated that despite sending ALL the required documents online with the claim, they still requested some of the same documents in an email that I had already uploaded online. It appeared that the claim processors were not looking carefully at all the documentation that was provided and just delaying the claim unnecessarily.
Piece of mind
I have bought many travel insurance policies over the years. Usually, there is no reason for a claim. But, the true test of a company is what they do when you have a real situation. I had a long travel delay (over 8 hours in a Bogota airport) because of a missed connection. I submitted proof of the delay and copies of my receipts showing purchase of food, water, etc. It was a $75 claim in all. But, the receipts were in Colombian Pesos. Berkshire processed my claim within a reasonable time and reimbursed all but $6 of my claim. I felt that was a satisfactory resolution to it and am pleased that they took care of the expenditures resulting from my delay.
Overall: I would recommend them and buy another policy from Berkshire.
We did file a claim because our travel was delayed and our baggage was misplaced… late to our destination- but have not heard back yet…
Your travel insurance provided no insurance during a medical emergency for my wife while in Paris. Your tele support was useless and your insurance provided no value.
Told by BHTP that my small claim with full documentation will take 12-15 weeks to settle. This seems unreasonably long.
