I talked to BH customer service regarding how to file a claim and the agent was very courteous and helpful. Please feel free to contact me in a month to see how the claim was handled. Thanks!

Claim was handled to my satisfaction within a reasonable period of time and without any hassles.
Excellent and FAST service!
We purchased our travel protection simply as a precautionary measure for our trip to Ecuador never believing we'd actually use it. My wife ended up needing emergency medical treatment. I cannot over emphasize how thankful we were that we purchased this policy and how grateful we are to Berkshire Hathaway and their incredible staff for all the help they gave us. They were not only very professional but also very kind in helping us get everything taken care of. That means allot when you're in a completely different country and a foreigner in the truest sense of the word.
From our personal experience, my wife and I highly recommend Berkshire Hathaway travel protection.
Very good experience with claim processing. This is my first time dealing with travel insurance. I was very speculated about insurance. The experience that I had will provide me with confidence purchasing insurance in the future
I purchased this insurance to cover a very expensive ($60,000) cruise to Antarctica. Unfortunately, the cruise line cancelled the cruise. Every other vendor I worked with (airlines, hotels, pre-paid tours pre-cruise in Buenos Aires) gave us a full refund because the cruise was cancelled through no fault of our own. However, BH told us we would have to move the insurance policy to a different trip. We didn't have any other trips planned (certainly not at that price point), so just booked another cruise so we wouldn't lose out on the insurance money. They did refund us the premium price difference between the two cruises, but there were other companies out there that had better coverage for less money that we would have used, had we not been forced to use BH. My travel agent informed me that several other of her customers were fully refunded their travel insurance premiums when the cruise line cancelled the cruise; I am not sure why BH doesn't have the same policy. Since we didn't file a claim on this policy, I cannot rate their customer service regarding claims.
I sent them everything they wanted which was quite extensive considering I paid $1500.00 for the policy and the claim was for approx. $305.00 according to my calculations however I received only 295.25. One Invoice was from the Philippines and was in Philippine Pisos, so I do not know what exchange date or rate they used. The problem of $10.00 is not an issue, my issue is with their handling of the Claim.
I expected them to either reach out to me or explain in detail how they arrived at that amount. Not once did anyone reach out to me during that time.
Finally I received an E-mail on Febr.7, 2019 informing me of the payment amount and that it would be made by check. I had given them instructions to send the payment to a different address than the original address that was on the policy number since we spend the winter in Florida. I answered the Febr.7 e-mail immediately reminding them where to send the check. Their response was a generic acknowledgment of my E-mail.
When I had not received the check by Febr. 21, 2019 I finally called them and asked them where they send the check. They assured me that they cut the check on Febr. 7th and that it was mailed to the Florida address and that there were 2 weekends, one a 3 day weekend and that would probably the reason for the delay. If I did not receive it in the next few days to call them back an ask for Jojo who handled my claim and she would arrange to have a new check issued.
I received the check yesterday, Febr.23rd and it was sent to my original address in NY. The post office there forwarded it to the Florida address.
The reason I chose this policy mostly because of the brand - the company did not measure up - I am very disappointed.
I called and was sent a claim form and number but didn't suffer any money loss , so I withdrew my claim.
I recommended it to my fellow travelers on the tour I was on. Good coverage, easy to access. I will use again when I travel.
Did not feel comfortable with the policy in general as compared to other coverage's other companies offered for a similar price. When traveling in the future, I will go with them.
