Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
Expensive but the customer service helped me plan and combine several countries on my trip.
We planned to take a trip to China on 10/31/2024 but did not make it.
We then asked Generali to revise the coverage from 10/31-11/07/2024 to 11/5 -11/29/2024. They complied but increased the premium from $373.48 to $405.30. We accepted it.
Unfortunately, we didn't make the journey on 11/5 either due to visa issues.
Again, we immediately reported to Generali the incident, and asked them to put our policy which was all paid for, in the back burner until we can reschedule the trip within a year. In the meantime, we will not make any claim.
When it is time to travel, we will certainly notify Generali to revive our protection plan.

The entire experience has been terrible. I will never purchase Generali insurance coverage again. The claims rep was rude and fishing for reasons to deny my claim. Once I submitted additional information to substantiate my claim, I received no response back. I will need to continue following up.
I had difficulty contacting the 24 hour number multiple times. Once we were in touch they were responsive to me emails.

My conversation with an agent concerning filing a claim was a good one. He was helpful and considerate. Just need to accumulate all the paperwork including those from the tour company.
Very simple process; claim was paid within 10 days of filing.
Did everything online. They let me know promptly what I was missing. I was able to provide info they desired in the correct format and the claim went through. Very satisfied.
I purchased the policy a few months prior to the planned trip. Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip two weeks prior to the departure date for an acute orthopedic issue. Our separate cancellation policy paid for the loss. I contacted the Generali Global two weeks prior to the trip and they said they will not refund any of the cost even though our trip was cancelled and we no longer had a insurable trip. They said to send an email and I did, but this was totally ignored despite me sending twice.
In summary I paid for medical (only) insurance for a trip we did not take and therefore was not an insurable event. The fact that they ignored the email is more upsetting.
I would never purchase from them again and hope you will follow through with them on the lack of response. I do not believe that I should pay for a policy we could never use.

Princess cancelled our cruise 4 days before we were supposed to depart. I went to Generali site to ask for my money back. They have a list of 5 or six requirements to fill out so they will refund your money. They are obviously designed so you won't have to refund any money. The fact is Princess cancelled the cruise. This is very easy for Generali to confirm. They don't need half a dozen things from me to refund my money. I have used Generali half a dozen times. Will never use them again. I called Generali. Got a woman on the phone, all she could say was you need to go to the site and send in the requirements. She was no help at all. I still say these requirements are designed to keep you from refunding anything to anybody. Very disappointed with Generali. We have several friends who cruise frequently. I will be spreading the word to buy your travel insurance from anybody but Generali.

Cruise was cancelled by cruise line. Guardio could easily confirm the cancellation. Instead asked me to send 6 things, 3 of which were nearly impossible for me to send. I have since booked two cruises. Will never use Guardio again. Pretty stupid decision to lose my business forever for $200.
